It amazing how newbs always bring up the same brands to ask about:
Intakes - AEM.
Headers - DC.

Why are all you guys encouraging the Lego building mentality to this guy? No one has asked him where he wants to build power in the RPM range. I think we can all assume he's not going turbo. But we can do better than just spitting out brand names.
Don't mess with your wiring. Aftermarket ingition upgrades are for boosted engines. You can put them on non-boosted engines but they won't do shit for you.
Comptech makes the Icebox. Click HERE to check it out. It can attatch to your stock intake arm, or you can buy the Comptech short ram intake and use that instead. The Icebox has the advantages of a short ram and the advantages of a cold air, all in one. Yes, there are advantages and disadvantages to each one as far as where power will be made in the RPM range, and throttle response. Please search the site a bit and you'll find alot of good tech on intakes, headers and exhausts.

You'll get responses all over the place on that question. For me, I had an AEM CAI without the bypass valve for 3 years and never hydrolocked. I hit a few big puddles that scared me too, but nothing happened. After the 3 years, I got the Comptech Icebox, because it was better for making power in the area of the RPM range I'm concentrating building power in than the AEM is. Plus the Icebox is quieter (I like quieter, some don't), it's easier to get at the filter to clean it, and I went from low risk of hydrolock to no risk.txhardball24 said:

Well telling him some things to look at will give him an idea where he wants to go with this. Without knowing the guys budget or desired powerband makes it little hard to go start spewing that he needs a 4-1 header or he needs a Toda header over a Megan Racing or something. I never mentioned AEM or DC Sport. Kind of hard to recommend "the best intake and exhaust" without knowing what he wants out of it. The "best" is a subjective term and is only relevant when you know what kind of powerband you want and money isn't an option. The best part for one person isn't the best for everyone.
