More Turbo Questions!

rockadilla

thats right.
$1000!?!?
I wouldnt pay more than $500
A tune from Tony Palo (search him) is about $400 and thats the best tube you can buy, people come from allover the country to get tuned by him.

Kris, road trip here, get tuned and then we can cruise

But yeah, you will want a tune after every thing is installed on your car and it is running.
Search dyno tunes on youtube, thays what a tunning procces is.
They park your car on a dyno (wheels that your tires will turn) that reads the hp and tq, they will set up a basemap on your ecu, and finely tune your afr and other stuff
yeah like i said i dont really have the best info on that cuz the only reason i found out was cuz my friend told me thats how much it would be :what: but he was probably exaggerating a lot lol

I've read that the best size for it is 3", but I wasn't sure if that was something that could wait or if I should have it done when the turbo goes on. Not a big deal, my Dad's Friends-Son owns an exhaust shop, i'm sure he could hook me up with a good deal.

I've heard that hitting boost without a tune is a very bad thing to do. Kind of hard to drive my car to a tuner without doing that. (Actually I guess it depends where it spools at, which I have absolutely no idea.) I assume i'm going to have a little bit of a road trip ahead of me for a tune. I emailed a shop that's supposed to be 40-50 miles out? Not too bad. Think I could drive there without worrying about messing something up?

Oh and I was thinking of making a road trip down to Phoenix Arizona to visit a buddy when it's boosted. Maybe we'll swing on by Dallas. :)

Edit:
I know what dyno tuning is, but I've heard of people doing street tunes and not hitting a dyno for quite some time. I guess they were people who KNEW how to tune, but I didn't really know if it was something I would be capable of.

As long as you just drive it easy you wont spool, id reccomend you get a boost guage as well, anyything below half throttle wont spool

Oh good deal. I wanted to get a boost gauge. Do they sell the things that go on the piller? The things that hold gauges I mean. I wanted to put a few gauges on that. (Oil pressure/boost gauge)

Thanks man. Also, what's your opinion on tapping into the block for an oil gauge. I was thinking of threading it into one of the plugs on the back. (That way if I somehow fuck up tapping it I could just change the plug.)

I have a fitting that taps into the plug for my oil feed line so you could add another fitting to that for the guage or the make spacers that go in between theboil filter and block that have fittings on them

Interesting. Any link for these oil filter spacer things?
Any other gauges I should run? (That aren't already in the stock cluster?)

Not really, im on my phone, search ebay or google for oil filter fittings for integra.
Im going to have a extra water temp sensor and oil pressure guage, its really up to you.

Second gen's don't have oil pressure as far as i'm aware. They have a light to tell you when your engine is fucked though lol.
Not taking a chance running my new engine without one.

Water wouldn't be a bad idea. I have oil/water/battery already but I didnt really think the battery was needed.
Three pod pillar with water/oil/boost sounds good.
