I know its a horrible idea but I'm cheap. Any advice on how to do it correctly, I only want to drop it 1-2 inches.

Thanks but looking for more specific info. Also pros and cons to doing this route would be great. I found lowering springs for 200 but that'll be hard for me to come across right now.

Dont mod a car if your cheap. Either do it the right way, or don't do it at all, plain and simple. Cutting springs is janky as fuck and gives most Honda owners a bad name. Your car will ride like absolute shit due to you hacking away on stock springs and throwing springs rates all out of whack. You can get lowering springs on ebay for 40 bucks for fucks sake.

Maybe you should wait to lower the car till you can afford to lower it. Cut springs have a lot of cons like if you don't do them perfect they won't come out to the right ride height or the fact that your car is gonna ride like shit and your gonna blow out your shocks! The only pro is that if you do it right your car will look better but more than likely not ride the same. So, if you can't afford to buy some news ones look for used ones on craigslist. I bought my eibach sportlines for 75 bucks and they ride awesome!

Guy from nerk, most Honda owners give themselves bad names by using too big of an exhaust or massive spoilers. That's why I'm on this site, most people here have some common sense. I am cutting my springs mainly just for the experience. I need to replace my entire suspension anyways I'm saving up the 800 bucks its gonna cost to put in skunk 2 fully adjustable coilovers on. Just like to experiment a lot. Was never expecting it to last just to see what happens. If I find good cheap lowering spring specific for my car then I'm going to order them. Then cut my springs until they get here just to get the experience.

No, what gives Honda owners bad names is people half assing things and using afro engineering. You don't see muscle car owners cuting stock springs to lower their rides, they buy the correct parts to do it. You wanna see what happens when you hack up stock springs? Let me show you and then maybe you'll rethink your logic. Now these weren't cut, but they were heated which gives the same results

Yes the car was being driven around with a piece of the spring broken off and just resting in the cup. Please save yourself and your car, do it right the first time. Like I said you can get lowering springs for 40bucks on ebay, thats a much better alternative to cutting/heating stock springs.

dont cut a corner now, just to spend more on replacing all the things that will end up going bad on the car due to saving a few pennies. just wait until you find what you really want at the price you are willing to pay. If you put shit into the car you are goin to get shit out of it lol

this man is asking how to cut spring not where to buy cheap ebay springs, use a metal grinder count how many coils you wanna cut make sure theyre all even i think either the rear or front is higher than the other so just follow that recipe. thats what i did when i cut my springs on my mk3 supra, it wont fail unless you do it right, ive been riding on cut springs for 3 years and no problems on my supra. how hard was it to answer this question?

Reading is fundamental.

The springs get softer when you cut them, Causing your car to bounce around and killing the life of your shocks/struts... When that happens you're oil pan, muffler, radiator support and cross bar will take a hell of a beating if you drive it around on pretty bad roads. Just leave it stock for now and save up to do it right, Don't want to keep fixing your own mistakes and cause more problems for your car because you wanted to skimp on something.
