Low Boost Daily Driver Question

so should i go with something with a little bit bigger a/r ratio? Like around 50 or so? I know bigger the a/r the more lag but what would u get if you want something inbetween. (something that doesn't lag too much but will push even boost in high rpms) t3/t4??

pushing 6 psi all the way to redline isn't a problem. a t3/t4 is a little much if you only want 6. if i wanted 6psi, i would personnaly look towards a ball bearing t3. they are pretty efficient up to 14psi or so. the bigger a/r does increase lag a little, but it also reduces backpressure. just need to find the happy medium for the way you want your car. i would stay on the bigger side of the a/r if i did a t3 just so if i wanted more down the road it would still be able to use the same turbo.

Garret GT series are the best but they are pretty pricey. If that fits into your budget then thats definitely they way to go

i'll probably be keeping the greddy/mitsu td05-18G guys. i got an eclipse GST i might put it on since i already have the 4g63 manifold and downpipe too.

so even though a small turbo can reach boost by 2500 at wot, can you still drive it at 3500 rpm part throttle on the freeway without boost? I would think so, cuz floor it at 2500 rpm, I imagine that is pushing out more exhaust gasses than at a little throttle at 3500 rpm, sounds louder anyways

my GST with the stock little garret t25 will build boost easily by 3500 at half throttle easily. the slightest bit of throttle with that little thing makes it spin because it is so small. but it doesn't really have any top end nuts for the same reason. just depends on the turbo really. but they will all be trying to build boost by 3500 as long as you don't go overboard with a big, peaky, turbo that is useless on a small displacement engine
