My parents were cruel. Always told me about the manuals they learned on,and forced me to get an auto back in the day when I bought a car..

welcome to clubintegra, best advice is take your driving coarse at school that way you become familiar with with the car, when you do get your car a manual is really no different then a auto other then you a re engaging the tranny and motor that doesnt take long to master bust best of luck on your quest and when you do get a teg show pics

shit i learned to drive twice. i learned to drive manual on a saab and then bought my teg with a stage 3 clutch in it. it was a whole new game... just go drive in traffic; you will learn how to drive it pretty quick that way. lol :)

i learned with my bro's civic with no power steering and a stiff clutch. it was hell but i got it within a day. :) had to teach myself how to get through an incline since my work place had hills all around it and there was no way out of it, but glad i learned cause i dont think ill ever go back to driving an auto unless i really have to.

UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
i was scared as shit to drive alone when i was learning how to drive a manual. i seriously avoided hills. lol it was ridiculous. on steep inclines, i'd stop and watch in my rear view mirror at the cars coming, thinking, "pleaseee don't stop too close, pleaseee don't stop too close..." because i was scared of rolling back and hitting them. my ex taught me that if the incline was really steep (San Francisco has crazy streets) pull up the e-brake. then when it was time to go, start giving it a little gas and let off the clutch. when you start to feel the car move, slowly release the e-brake. i tried it once and the car never rolled back. it seemed a little time consuming, though. i just went for it and said "fuck it" after that. if worse comes to worst, you hit someone. lol with that said, don't worry and good luck! you'll get the hang of it in no time. stick is much more fun to drive than autos, imo. :thumbs up

San Fran does have some crazy ass streets. i especially hate it when the ppl behind you stop hella close. their fault tho.
