Just got an Integra!

Just woke up and my parents got me a '94 GSR as a 16th bday present.
I don't have pictures right now, but I'll take some later.
It's got some minor problems I'm hoping you guys could help me with, I'm kind of new to fixing cars and such.
Other than the bads, the engine sounds good, it's got a Skunk2 sway bar, and a aftermarket head unit. Also some switch near the E-brake but no idea what it is.. I'm hoping it's a kill-switch but haven't tried it out yet.

One of the problems would be, the radio doesn't work for some reason. It's got an after-market head unit, Sony Xplod, I'm guessing it's old cause to put in a CD I have to open the face plate and put it in and then put the face plate back up. The antenna is broken too, it won't come up or down at all. It's got an MP3 plug that I'm guessing was DIY, that doesn't work either.. when the head unit is on Tuner all you hear is static, I try to change the channel but it says "Searching for local channel" and never finds one. I plugged in my iPod, and you can't hear anything.

my radio doesn't work as well, it's a common problem with integras. mine is stuck in the down position so i just mainly listen to cds. you can always replace the antenna motor or get a shark 2 antenna or something. but post pics when you can and happy birthday/congrats!

welcome man! none of those problems sound too bad to me... i would start by replaceing that head unit with something higher quality and replace the antenna motor and you should be set there

Welcome! or if you want you could get a new head unit with a built in HD radio and buy an antenna delete :) lol

thanks guys!

i'm planning on buying a new Sony Xplod 52W with an AUX plug for $99
maybe 2 MTX 12" (750 peak and 250 RMS each) subwoofers $50 each.
and i'll have best buy install them so i don't mess anything up, and i'll have a warranty.

after that i'll have to save up for a 2-way alarm system since integras are theft magnets.. thinking about
going for a $250 clifford 12.5x with remote start. i would do a kill switch.. but fuel killswitch means no remote start, and electricity means no alarm(?).

Not only did your parents buy you a GSR for your 16th/as your first car...but a MILANO RED GSR!! and stock too?!?!?! :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:dude you must understand..a Milano Red GSR is my absolute dream car! More so than a WRX/STi more than any Ferrari F430/458 Italia, more so than any Gallardo..the mint condition, old lady driven, virgin MR GSR is my unicorn..so for that, I hate you:D
