well thats not exactly what i meant at first but since you said it...the blocks are sleeved in the non vtec i herd. is this correct?
No, no stock motor is "sleeved." Sleeving a block is the process of boring out the cylinders walls and replacing the missing cylinder walls with an after market cylinder sleeve.

As people have said.

Engine block stamp.
Vtec solenoid
Vin number.
Listen for Vtec to kick in while driving
ECU
Valve cover
Stamp on the cylinder head
Stamp on pistons.

Vtec-Pwr

OPP-O1-OH-DC2
^^^^^ SOHC VTEC, also in those accords and tl's, cl's...

again check out the stamp on the cylinder head right below the vc and solenoid, cuz vtec head can also sit on ls block or b20

Hittin' VTEC!!!!
it doesn't matter cause there are some vc with shaved letters, but look by the dizzy there is going to be spark plug wires going to the spark plugs an infront of that is the vtec solenoid. thats the only other way to tell w/o the vc saying VTEC..
