How To: Report the California Highway Patrol (CHP)

I have several friends who are officers and I have sat in the Lieutenants office to talk about dealing with crime in my community. Just had another conversation with a Sheriff last night actually as I looked suspicious with my hoodie on :D I have respect for the police as well but they don't have any more rights than we do, its our job to remind them of that. I am a little surprised most of you seem to be against the idea of reporting a cop (laughing as I type this), not really sure why as it's likely that you have had worse experiences with them than I have. Hard to respect those who break laws they expect us to obey.

@94RS They should immediately go back to patrolling... What a shame it would be that they would be standing around talking while your car is being stolen the next block over, think about it. Don't forget, we pay for their salaries.

Dude you have no idea what your talking about, get off your ass and go don a uniform, and put up with douche canoes like yourself for a few years then come back to this thread and see how you feel

lol... So because they have to deal with disorderly people, I'm just supposed to bend over when they treat me like one of them? I don't think so. I live in the city with the highest percentage of property crime in the country, and that's a figure based on reported crimes. My honest opinion, its at least twice as high. Current numbers say that 300% of people have a crime committed against them, that means if you live here, on average you will have at least three things happen to you every year. If you want to be like the majority of people in this world who complain but do nothing for change, then go ahead. If any of you ever feel inclined to report poor police behavior, if you didn't know how to before, hopefully yo do now.

But if a cop has pulled you over because you were on a sketchy part of town late at night. Or if they talked to you because you were sitting in your car late at night isn't that them already doing their job? Just because them doing their job is giving you irritation, then don't do sketchy, or look like your doing sketchy, shit late at night to begin with. Hw could you clearly tell he wasnt on a call? Do you have a cop radio and monitor it? They have a cop radio, you had no idea why he was doing what he was doing. You are assuming too much and it's making an ass out of you.

i got pulled over for leaving my car on and idling. that was them being proactive for car theft. IT was annoying. but they were doing their job.

You live in a s***hole city, and instead of choosing to become a cop to protect your city and do what you believe is a better job than they are doing, you decide to harass the cops that are actually doing their job when they see what you're doing late at night in a sketchy area, or the ones that just got done writing tickets?

I love where I live and if I just leave, then who wins? Who is being selfish? I care about my community as a whole, not just my self. Where I live is probably much more beautiful than where all of you are from, no offense. Average of around 70º year round and five minutes from the beach. I got my Bachelors in Politics because I want to make a difference in this world, not just for my self. I want to serve the public, not take advantage of it.
The examples I gave were not reasons for me to complain about Cops... I'm happy they stopped me in those instances because yes, they were doing their job. Please re-read what I wrote instead of miss-quoting me on things, very annoying. I actually do listen to the police scanner but it was very clear this cop was just speeding. Did you know a lot of Cops text and drive now? I could never find them guilty because they use it to "communicate" with other officers, no way to prove otherwise.
I try to never ASS-U-ME things, I use my ability to observe and asses a situation, then come to a logical conclusion.

Oh that's why some cops pull over to the side of the road, then drive off after 2mins....they were texting...Well they didn't want you to listen to EVERYTHING they're talking about on your police scanner now, give the men and women their privacy....BTW, why do you have a police scanner and are always stopped in a sketchy part of town? DUN DUN DUN
