No matter how much security you have it won't help if someone wants to steal your ride. Just makes me sick to my stomach, that it had to happen to a well know/beloved member of ci. This thread needs to make people aware that it can happen to anyone.

Exactly, no matter how much security you have, don't ever ease off from the "paranoia" its there for a good reason. Yeah, it's even crazier for some reason when it happens to a well known, long time contributing member.. Karma will come to them, sooner than later I hope.

It really slows people down but besides that if they want it they want it. After i got a few hints a stockton group was after my car i stopped driving it.

This thread should make people aware that theft is always a possibility, absolutely. This is both sad & tragic to see happen to someone we all know, love & whos car we drool over. But.. your security claim is not correct in the slightest. While true that they can always tow it, security goes beyond the initial theft. Notifications including alarm (tilt, broken glass, shock, proximity), kill switches, boundary crossings, unauthorized movement, border crossings, battery disconnect, low battery, excess speed. Beyond that there is tracking, disabling & the ability to locate. There are plenty of ways to protect yourself, don't let your typical 1 or 2-way alarms let you think otherwise.

Exactly, no matter how much security you have, don't ever ease off from the "paranoia" its there for a good reason.
I know that paranoia all too well. It would plague me daily and I'd end up not driving it anywhere, not even able to enjoy it due to the fear of losing it. When it comes to that & you're feeling paranoia you need to make a decision. Do you want to drive something that makes you feel that way constantly, drive a mom car or fix the problem. I can honestly say it's not even a thought anymore. Security should NOT be discredited. Protect your investments people.

I dont want this to be or appear to be pouring salt into an open wound, that is not my intention. This should serve as a wake up call, especially to those of us in California where theft is as rampant as it has been lately. Truely sorry Peara & we're all hoping for the best.

^^^^ Absolutely ...............they still make and sell lo jack and if i had a shit ton of money in my car its something i would def purchase.

My friend had his bike stolen in San Diego and got his bike back unharmed because of lo jack. Most thieves will steal something and park it to make sure its not being monitored. Hopefully this is the case with the teg and it will be found before its chopped.

Lojak and full coverage insurance are the two best things you can do.

I never worry about my car getting stolen. If it does lojak has that shit and maybe the police will find a chop shop when they find my car. And if they strip it out in 15 minutes (usual time it takes to get a lock on a lojak car) then USAA cuts me a fat check. If its stolen entirely...hello tl-s.

This is horrible news. Just as so many people have said, just a beautiful car. There are some nice rare parts on that car that shouldn't be too hard to find if they are posted online. I'll keep an eye out for you guys. Hope the car gets recovery with minimum loss.

Sorry for your loss man! Will be hard to find many of those parts. The tail lights may be one of the easier ones to spot. What was the car doing at the mall especially in Stockton? Just rolling the dice if you park it out in the open.

Hopefully someone will spot it and let you know.

Damn this sucks hope you find it soon the longer it's gone the less of a chance it has of being recovered. I have a way of doing a GPS tracking for cars that is really inexpensive. When I get home ill see if I can get into the VIP section and post it up! Gl hope it turns up soon and with little or nothing lost!

Word just saw that... I can post it up in a security section if there is one here. It's really up to the owner of the car to keep there security things to themselves...
