No matter how much security you have it won't help if someone wants to steal your ride. This thread needs to make people aware that it can happen to anyone.
This thread should make people aware that theft is always a possibility, absolutely. This is both sad & tragic to see happen to someone we all know, love & whos car we drool over. But.. your security claim is not correct in the slightest. While true that they can always tow it, security goes beyond the initial theft. Notifications including alarm (tilt, broken glass, shock, proximity), kill switches, boundary crossings, unauthorized movement, border crossings, battery disconnect, low battery, excess speed. Beyond that there is tracking, disabling & the ability to locate. There are plenty of ways to protect yourself, don't let your typical 1 or 2-way alarms let you think otherwise.
Exactly, no matter how much security you have, don't ever ease off from the "paranoia" its there for a good reason.
I know that paranoia all too well. It would plague me daily and I'd end up not driving it anywhere, not even able to enjoy it due to the fear of losing it. When it comes to that & you're feeling paranoia you need to make a decision. Do you want to drive something that makes you feel that way constantly, drive a mom car or fix the problem. I can honestly say it's not even a thought anymore. Security should NOT be discredited. Protect your investments people.
I dont want this to be or appear to be pouring salt into an open wound, that is not my intention. This should serve as a wake up call, especially to those of us in California where theft is as rampant as it has been lately. Truely sorry Peara & we're all hoping for the best.
