alright ci members, i have an exhaust question and need answers asap! i want to buy the apexi ws2 catback, but there are two applications one for 94-97 LS and 98-01 LS....i dont know which one to pick because you see...i have a 94 LS coupe, with a 97 motor.... but i will be doing a JDM conversion with the 98+ rear bumper.... which application is for my car? does anyone know the difference between the two application?

is the difference because of the rear bumper? i just want to make sure it will line up with my 98+ rear bumper when i put it on

damn its been a long day guys, so i was trying to install some coilovers onto my car today... fronts went in great, but the rears, not so friendly. Basically the common rear shock/ LCA bolt was seized in the bushing on both sides so i would either had to torch the bushings out or cut the bolt... I chose to just take off the whole brake/ suspension/ LCA/ trailing arm off in one peice so i wouldnt have to deal with it hahaha, so i basically swapped it out with my other parts car integra that i had in the garage ( which is waiting to be sold soon) everything went nice and smooth, just time consuming... took a few pictures of the process, will post up more pictures after i swap in my new head tomorrow and get the car ready to be tuned in a few weeks.

Went to Sacramento raceway last wednesday, took home first place in lane 5 and got myself a nice trophy =]]

My final Time Slip:

Dial in- 14.90
Reaction- .097
60 ft.- 2.264
1/8th- 9.587
1/4- 14.942
MPH- 90.371

Most of the time when i go i usually make it to the semi finals or finals, but this is my first time winning and boy did that sh!t felt good XD (i had a little victory scream down the track LOL)

just an update on my build... i swapped my crower valve train over to my "better condition" b18b head... also putting in some new oem valve stem seals and ferrea stainless steel valves (stock size)....

i am hoping to get the head back on tomorrow if i have time... also waiting for my black injen short ram to come in this week

QUESTION!!! i am thinking about purchasing a Weapon R race header (2.5 collector + cat delete) for my set up but was wondering if it would bolt up to the apexi ws2 catback?

Nice buld man! I had a B18B1 fully built as well, but it was a little more agressive and was shooting for 200+ WHP with mid to high 13 sec. times at the track. After realizing it wasn't going to do what I was hoping for, I got rid of it and went with a built B20VTEC motor, but I do understand why you chose the LS and the mods you've done to it. It is certainly different ad respectable!

Out of what I read in this thread, you will want to do oversized valves and that may justify a bored IM or an aftermarket one plus a large TB. You can get more out of that motor with a little higher compression but I don't know if you wanted to do that or not. A serious port & polish job on the head will help you out greatly. As for degree'ing the cams, just put some adj cam gears on there especially if you're going with the 404's like you mentioned. Uh I think that's it for now. I do still have some parts for the B1 laying around if you need anything.

Nice build!

yeah i wish i had went more aggressive on my set up but all the valve train parts i found on craigslist was for really cheap and so were the pistons lol so right now its going to be a nice daily driver for me. But i do have an extra b18b block sitting in the garage that is in great shape and was thinking about resleeving that for another all motor set up.

this is my first motor i ever built and i've been learning alot, everything was hard to do at first but now it just seems to be a piece of cake. My next build should be alot more aggressive

that Apexi is 2.25" piping right? I think as far as the location of the flanges it will bolt up, but the diameter difference may be what causes you problems. You'd be better off with a 2.5" cat back system

the apexi ws2 is 2.36, and i want something that is quiet especially if im gonna go with race headers, but if anything i think i'll just get the t1R 63mm catback, that thing is pure sex =]]

thanks for the comment guys, it helps motivate me to keep on building my dream car, and this is only the first stage of it. i will keep you guys updated as much as possible.

right now i got the 12" slim fan done and front mounted on the radiator. also my cheap egay 2.25 test pipe is on for now until i get the race headers. damn cheap egay test pipe flanges are hella off so i had to ghetto rig it but it'll work for now
