Naturally Aspirated B18b
Devin's NA B18b Progress Thread
How's it going CI? Thanks for dropping by my progress thread, and I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to leave any comments or questions for me, and I will reply back asap.
I've been on this website for about two years now since I first got my license at age 17 in 2006. Clubintegra has helped me learned so much ever since then until now, and most of the time I just use the search function, never really posted much LOL.
My first car was a 95 frost white integra LS which i loved to death, but had to sell due to headaches and problems with the car after spending so much money on it. I miss her everyday and her grand prix white paint job =[
I currently now drive a red 94 integra LS coupe, and its my only daily driver. In January, 2009, I swapped in a new mild built, naturally aspirated B18b that I had put together by myself. The reason why i chose to go NA on a B18b is because I love the LS motor and believe it has good potential even though it doesn't have VTEC. I don't really need alot of power and just want something quick and nimble as this will be my daily driver. My hobby is working on my integra, building it up slowly, and try to be a bit different.
Here are a few progress pictures of my build, I didn't get to snap much XD
Current set up:
Faded Milano Red 1994 Integra LS coupe
1997 B18b motor with stock obd1 ecu
- stock injectors/ stock FPR/ stock fuel pump
- gsr tranny/ clutchmaster stage 1 clutch/ resurface stock flywheel
BOTTOM BLOCK
- Nippon pr3 pistons with new rings (about 10:8 compression)
- shotpeened LS rods/ ARP rod studs/ new ACL bearrings
- oem oil pump/ oem water pump
- micropolished crank/ new ACL bearrings
- new seals/ gaskets/ timing belt
HEAD
- Crower 403 (stage 2) cams/ aem cam gears (both left at 0)
- Crower valve springs/ ti retainers
- 3 angle valve job/ new stem seals
- polished exhaust ports/ head resufaced
- ARP headstuds
- fel pro head gasket
- NGK Double Platinum spark plugs/ MSD plug wires
- all new seals and gaskets
BOLT ON's
- 4-2-1 one peice header (ZR racing, carb legal)
- Skunk2 catback (with stock cat)
- stock intake with K&N cone filter (removed resonator)
- 64mm TB portmatched to stock manifold/ hondata spacer gasket
- half size aluminum radiator
compression test shows:
cylinder 1: 205
cylinder 2: 202
cylinder 3: 205
cylinder 4: 211
Fuel Pressure at 32 psi.
The original stock 94 B18b motor in the car ran a 15.4 on Sacramento Raceway. With my new set up I am hoping for low 14's and maybe high 13's. That's all I want for a daily driven NA B18b and I would be happy.
The car is not dyno tuned yet but will be as soon as i save up enough for tuning. The car drives just fine right now but I don't feel the power of the cams since I did not "degree the cams" when installing the Crower 403's. So my timing is a bit off for now until I get it dyno tuned, then we'll see the final results.
I will keep updating my post as I progress in building up my car, so drop by every once in a while! Also I would love to meet up with other car enthusiasts when I get a chance too, so let me know if a meet goes down around the Sacramento area.
