cold air intake+header+exhaust

Those are firm statements being made that youre contradicting yourself with. It doesnt really do much in the first place and then it doesnt add horsepower? Youre claim states all cai doesnt do anything and dyno sheets prove it. I see dynos that prove they do add power. What they are capable of is a little broader than you are aware of. Find yourself more dyno sheets. You cant make flatout ignorant statements.

We can get technical with terminology but rather than doing that lets say that adding power can be translated into freeing up power instead. Interchangeable and either way works as long as its being understood in context. Id rather not open up the topic of back pressure on this one. lol
Like i said.. I dont know much about the 3g's. I just know my D series will lose compression if I lose back pressure. I should have said what I ment a little clearer and Im sorry on that guys. I kinda sounded like an ass before.

And I have seen a good couple test done on dynos testing what a cold air intake does. And yes you are right it really just free's up hp. Should have been more clear in saying if he planned on getting the whole system, the hp add wouldnt be from the intake really. Definetly would help but from the test I have seen, a full exhaust system ran with stock intake doesnt dyno different IN HP then a cold air or ram intake.

How would you lose compression?

The same concept of freeing up power can be applied to the exhaust as well. To be more specific the gain or lack of will be different for every build and depends on what part is used. Again the context is kinda broad and we have to narrow the scope a bit for more accurate information. Generalizing whether a single part provides any performance or not just simply doesn't work. Some applications you see gains and others you don't. Even more than stock builds. I can elaborate if necessary. It boils down to air flow and restriction.
