cold air intake+header+exhaust

If you need to replace your exhaust system.. buying a cold air intake wont do anything. It doesnt really do much in the first place. People say it ads horsepower but it really doesnt, and you can search it and see ACTUAL test being done if anybody doesn't believe me.

I dont understand how your exhaust system HAS to be replaced either.. I dont think the 3g's have as touchy back pressure as my G1 but I could be wrong.

I have said it time and time again. Intakes and exhausts only add as much as the head allows. They are accent parts, not power adders.

"Back pressure" :p Maybe I should let Tom touch on that one, because he and I have discussed that before lol.

Those are firm statements being made that youre contradicting yourself with. It doesnt really do much in the first place and then it doesnt add horsepower? Youre claim states all cai doesnt do anything and dyno sheets prove it. I see dynos that prove they do add power. What they are capable of is a little broader than you are aware of. Find yourself more dyno sheets. You cant make flatout ignorant statements.

We can get technical with terminology but rather than doing that lets say that adding power can be translated into freeing up power instead. Interchangeable and either way works as long as its being understood in context. Id rather not open up the topic of back pressure on this one. lol

Yeah exactly. Thats always the way I look at it. There is a reason they use the word "Restriction".

And yeah haha. It would lead to a lot of explaining and arguing. I have been reading a lot about exhausts recently. I should give you the articles.

Interesting stuff i havent delved into yet but on the rsx forum i see mention of using 3" on their NA setups. I need to find out if theyre truely seeing gains at bolt on level or if people are spreading more misinformation based on high power builds. Still 3" at NA level is new to me.

Share articles. Ill have something to read at work later.

Yeah. I think I am going to go 2.75" though. Skunk2 Megapower R to be exact. I might take one for the team and get the RR though and see what my numbers are at 3". More than likely get the R though. lol

When I find them I will link them to you on fb.

Excellent. And i cant wait to see the data on that but are you gonna have a baseline before you put the exhaust on?

It is going to be my current exhaust as the baseline. Then the next one will be the toda rep, 2.5" test pipe, and the skunk2 catback. lol So it won't be the best comparison at all. Unless someone wants to loan a 2.5" catback for a test. I somehow doubt that elton will wanna waste his time testing it though. And I don't want to pay $75 to test it :p Also just because it turns out to be better for my set up doesn't make it true for everyone.

Of course but thats why the baseline is important to have. If i could i would put my itr catback on for the test that would provide decent information.

One day I will test it. But since I am ballin on a budget, I am just going to get the 2.75" and see how that goes. I am sure the differences between 2.75 and 3 are going to be tiny if anything. Curious to see the differences between 2.5 and those 2 though.

2.5 to 2 is going to be more notable than 2.75 to 3 on milder set ups. Im willing to be wrong but thats my hypothesis.
