Iv been pricing some different cams and springs setups but iv herd that i cant just throw the parts on because there are other things that need to be upgraded to do this. not sure what all i need to do so i need some answers with this project. Motor: b18b1

not sure what you mean by pricing everything out...since there is only one compaby that makes cams for that motor atm. Crower/brian crower. You do need to do other things.
take off the head
new head gasket
coolant and oil change
valve job
install springs and retainers
cam install
reinstall head
degree cams
break in cams
tune

you should also consider supporting upgrades like intake manifold and a better header.

What Dylan said. I happen to have a set of stage 2 crower cams for that exact engine for sale right now. So really all you technically need is valve train and maintenance right away and a tune and you'd be good to go. The other stuff will yield better results.

Yep. Crower says .008 intake and .006 exhaust or something like that, I think those are the right numbers.....

Alright cool so what do you mean by valve job? new valves? and yes the only cams are BC had a blond moment there(no offence to blonds) And i would be more than happy to break in the cams knowing ill be over 210 hp with the mods iv alredy done

"breaking in the cams" will happen when you bleed the coolant system you pretty much just run it at idle or what ever rpm suggested for 20 minutes or something along those lines.

Valve job= cleaning and recutting them for your motor.

recutting sounds like a pain. would i be better off just getting new valves along with everything else?

you still need the head recut...and resurfaced anyways...you still need to do it reguardless. the head needs to be cut for the valve as well as resurfaced. not sure why thats a pain...part of building a motor.

why wouldnt you resurface the head when it was off...? only way i would not do anything to the valves is if i knew they were going back 100% in the position they were. if not i would recut them and if you recut them the head needs to be done too.

I know it shouldnt be a pain because its all worth it in the end most definitely. I just had no clue there was so much stuff required for what im wanting to do. Better start saving up!!! Random question: how much hp you think i would gain with a skunk 2 intake manifold with a 70mm throttle body?
