Doesn't mean I have to like it:shock:
True, engine/powertrain swaps have gotten really abnoxsious recently, in good and bad ways. Always got to find a way to make a car better to drive. I still cant get over the Mid Engine RWD 3SGTE powered CRX that they built for Gymghana

DAMN. You can fit a 350 in a miata??? Ive seen those engine bays and DAMN their tiny. The 1G im talking about though, Never seen under the hood of newer models
I've seen a few unique Miata's. I've seen a 350 in a 1G. My favorite was the 290hp DOHC 4.0 Lexus V8 (1UZ-FE) in a 2nd Gen Miata

Biggest motor ive seen in a 1G Miata is a RB26DETT. Ive always wanted to get a little 1G track car and do something crazy with it. Those cars can be had CHEAP AS HELL! Best thing is I can park is sideways in my garage. AHAHAHA

I think it was a 96 but it was in there, they had to mod the firewall to fit the tranny and stuff but it was a hell of a setup, very well balance to belive it or not.

HOLY HELL!!!!! I couldn't imagine that kinda power in one! Coming as a formor miata owner (1990:shock: , I dont miss it....I killed that shitty little 1.6 in less than a month...) and I've driven a ton of miatas ! Those things scary the @(*@(* outta me at highway speeds,..esp with the top down...yeah so anyway.

I agree with whoever said that engine swaps are getting ridiculous. Its not like you can't get plenty of decent BMW motors...I just don't like BMW. Same for Mazda? Put a 13b in that shit!!! 13b miata? Throw some boost its way, lightweight + readily available parts + gobs of boost=fun

I can't say agree with you there. I've seen more than a few 1st gen 1.6L Miata's with 400hp on stock internals. That is by no means shitty

...mine was shitty   ...Trust me, if you have driven or ridden in that thing you'da understand . I'm not exactly sure how to explain how I killed it without sounding like a fucktard BUTTTT basically I had a major problem with the timing belt, and I ended up being off by (my mechanic estimated 2-3 notches) so...yeah...It ran and drove fine,I knew with the milage (140k or so) that I should do timing belt, when I was ready to take her in (went to fredericksburg the weekend before..blew slave cylinder, was stuck at mary washing college for 3 days until I could get it towed home...) it started running REAL slow

BMW motor may be more reliable and have more power but that car was sick and the revs, looks like so much fun!
BMW engines are not more reliable than any honda engine. Who ever thinks that should ride a bike

I beg to differ, I have owned multiple BMW's including an 88m3, 78m6, and a 95325is and have never had a problem with any of them no matter how much I beat the crap out of them, Except for breaking multiple driveshafts on the M6 due to an obscene amount of power it was just routine maintenance. The people that have problems with them are the ones who don't keep up on the maintenance that needs to be done.

so because you only break driveshafts BMW is reliable. How many people do you know have to do more than routine maintanence on a honda besides buy gas. I know people that don't even do that and they still last almost 400,000 mi. Look up some statistics. how does BMW do on the track.

I broke driveshafts on a 600+hp inline 6 I think thats excusable. As for doing routine maintenance, thats bad why, sorry I'm not gonna be the dumbass that never pops the hood for 100k miles and then has a couple thousand dollar bill for shit that needs to be fixed but could have been avoided. As for 400k miles, please stop exagerating. As for the track, who the fuck cares, do you drive a race car to work everyday cause I sure as fuck don't. Of course BMW's cost more to own they cost more to buy, a porshe costs an annual of $2000 a year to properly maintain, I guess because of that Honda's are better and more reliable then them too. Honda's are great for the price and reliable yes, but if not properly taken care of they will break like anything else.
