I was attempting to do them.
Problem is that I'm afraid that if I put any more muscle into it, I'll end up fucking them up past still being usable.
So my thought is to say fuck it, might as well start fresh :lol: I ended up finding a pair of NOS lowers for around $140 on eBay. They usually go for around $200 per side. :what:

Also, I hate buying shit off eBay. It's been over a week now and those forks still haven't gotten here from Wisconsin.
With the time I've waited for those fuckers, I think I have a design for the KZ in mind.
Being that the LTD's tank shape is damn close to a Sportster...
I'm wanting to take the basic design of the 883R decal and change it a bit.
- replace H-D with Kawasaki
- change orange to lime green
- extend the silver stripe all the way over and down towards the orange
- eliminate checkerboard
- change silver to KZ1000R stripe colors

I was just watching an old interview with Erik Buell the other day.
Had they let him do what he wanted to with the VR1000 project, HD might have had an actual sportbike.
Notice the XB-style fuel-in-frame setup? That was the original VR prototype... From 1988. That frame was finally made into a production bike towards the end of Buell in the form of the 1125.
Or how about the V-Rod engine in this thing. Disguised by Porsche with Suzuki bodywork.
It was originally supposed to be the engine for the XB, but then Harley decided to take, widen and lengthen it (which added 60 pounds) and stuff it into a cruiser frame.
TL;DR - HD fucked Erik Buell and because of that, they're a joke of a company.
