I'm having issues getting the bike started it sat for a year+ before I got it. I've replaced the chain tensioners and the fuel switch. Just got a new spark plug yesterday. I'm getting sparks I'm getting fuel and it turns over. It keeps flooding instead of starting. Would it be a bad carb jet or something? I'm lost.
Sounds like jets, Was the tank drained before it sat? If not it's definitely gunked up, I would take it apart, Clean it, Replace the jets and retune it.
Yeah, Most people don't know how to drain the bowl on the carb too, That's where the gunk comes from, You can try taking the bowl off of it blasting the s*** out of it with carb cleaner but it doesn't always work.
Just went to a bike shop and they pulled the usual bs to get me to bring it in. They said something about a float being stuck and that could cause it to flood so much the rebuild kit was going to be 90 bucks and about how hard it is to rebuild a carb. I just stared at her. Had a long day at work and didn't even want to deal with explaining I'm know how to take shit apart and put it back together plus It was hard to understand her pretty sure she was a tweaker lol
Float sticking just causes it to leak gas out the overflow hose, It would still run fine, I'd say just clean it first then if no luck replace the jets, motosport should have the jets.
So finally had some time to pull the carb. I got a can of chem dip so I can soak it ran into one issue while I was taking it apart. The choke arm looks like its missing a piece.
I'm pretty sure a screw goes in there to lift the fork. Looks kinda like its threaded just wanting to be sure.
I can hear the squids, Saturday evening, Sounds like a bunch of 90's sportbikes trying to do wheelies and failing, Few panic revs too, Probably got in to a tank slapper trying to wheelie...
My wife wants me to get a bike this winter for next summer. I was thinking of getting a Ducati 748r. I have a friend who has one and is trying to get rid of it
Its alive. Rigged up a screw in the choke lever till I get a replacement. Now I'm about to change the oil, bleed the brakes and adjust the clutch and it should he good to go. I got a feeling I'm going to be tired of a 125cc real quick.
