Pretty sure my stator is fried.... Damn thing will start and idle fine for about 5-10 minutes then kill itself once warm. Try to kick it back over, it'll start up first or second kick and die about 2-3 seconds later. Not a carb issue since that's brand new. Spark plug is brand new, wire/coil are still good.

Thoughts? If I remember right, one of you guys replaced a stator recently.

Yup. That was me haha. Id bet your Battery is at 0% because the stator is bad. What bike again?

Wait how many times has it done this?

Battery will still hold a little bit of a charge, but I know it's been shot for a while.

How could you forget what bike? I'm the only one here with a scoot

Dude I don't even remember what I had for dinner last night lol. I have a terrible memory.

Anyways my advice will only help if a scooter works like a motorcycle. First off, you will need a multimeter

Measure the voltage of the battery when it's not running and then when it is. Jump it if need be. (NOT WITH A CAR). Then turn it back off and unplug the stator (should be a set of wires coming off it). Start the bike up and measure the out put from the stator and let me know how many volts it's putting out (measure in AC).

Might just be a better idea to get a new battery and stator. s*** is dirt cheap for these engines thankfully

As true as that is, it's always a good idea to try and learn about what might be broken and how to fix it :). It'll help in the future some day!

I got bored last night waiting on people to come by and started cleaning a bit on my cbr, I got the plastidip off the gear shifter lever, the shifter linkage thing, The left side of swingarm was completely covered and I removed it, Took the rear set off and the chain cover and cleaned all the plastidip off the swingarm behind it and under the plastic chain guard. It was all a mess, Don't have a direct picture of before but you can sort've see a bit of it all in this first pic. Than cleaned pics below.

Inside of the gear shifter lever where the indention is.. So impossible to get that shit out. This plastidip doesn't tend to peel off, Or wipe off with any fluids on it. I've had to scrape it all off with a scraper... Lol

I don't like it, I like the good feeling when you look at your bike after and you're like damn it looks so much better already lol. It's not going to clean itself though. That's what I tell myself to go clean it. I'll be like I'll have a dirty bike forever if I don't go and clean it sometime so I just go clean some lol

I turned the ignition on, fuel pump primed, Started rolling it backwards so the exhaust isn't in the "garage" blew the gauge cluster fuse, Put another fuse in it. Went to start it up. Everytime this bike starts cold it takes a minute. It's weird. It will crank and crank and slowly fire. Like it'll start to fire than keep cranking, Eventually it starts after 15-20 seconds. Than it still idles rough... Lol. Pos bike wish I never bought it haha. I'm not spending another $. Once my chain/sprockets come in it's posted up on craigslist

Changing the oil and putting a new battery may help. That cured my mom's bike with the same symptoms.
