I've had my share of every B series engine except a B16. And by far, my favorite is a B20Vtec. I revved the stock frankenstein to 8600 and never had any issues. It blew up due to a skunk 2 throttle body screw backing itself out and getting sucked in, bending a valve. I can honestly say I've had more fun with that engine than anything else. Especially mated with a good transmission. I have an ITR 4.7 LSD. My suggestion would be to go that route. You just have to do it right, like replacing the rod bolts with ARP's because the factory ones stretch. That's the biggest issue with those. The only thing I HATE about Frankensteins, is the fact that they don't have a girdle. That ends up being an issue if you're keeping it in high revs for a long time, e.g.. track/course/time attack racing. Good luck with the build.
