Getting motivated....



After some electrical work in the garage and hanging up new lights I got around to changing that fitting for the prop valve.

First cut the end off so you can remove the old fitting.



Next you want to sand down the rough edges and put a chamfer around the edge.



Then remove the old fitting (left) and install the new fitting that you could have gotten from the prop valve (right)



Make sure to double flare.



I used a 3/16 to flare cause I didn't have a metric one, seemed to work fine.



Now they should both be the same, great I'll come back to finishing this up way later. Just wanted to get this part out of the way for now.

Got some more of the new lights installed today.

It's sooo much brighter then it was with the regular bulbs.



Also picked up some more shelving, got this at SAMs club. $35 a unit, real nice quality, made in the USA, not a bad deal imo.



Back on the car, I got the subframe and rack dropped out.



Tool the hard lines off.



And after separating the rack I said fuck it for the night and cleaned up the quarts of fluid from the floor.

I can't decide whether to get a usdm itr trans or jdm itr trans?

I know the final drive is shorter on the jdm one but are there any other differences?

I heard something about axles being different or that it has a better lsd?

Usdm uses a 32mm Axel. JDM uses a 36 mm Axel. Personally I'd go with the usdm trans because of the parts availability. As for the LSD, I wanna say they use the same one(?) But don't take my word.

Yea dude, well her Dad is Japanese, but she trys to keep the heritage as fresh as possible, can't say I blame her. So we were celebrating for my daughter, but what do you mean "change to something else?"

Right 36mm and 32mm, yea I didn't want to have to source jdm axles and hubs so I'll stick with the usdm. But I heard that the jdm has a torsen lsd and usdm is something else maybe? Fucking google sucks today :/

"boys day" was changed to children's day or some thing dumb. Because it was "politically incorrect". Lol. It always is just weird that they didnt combine the two.

Yea I don't get that either cause they still have girl's day? She has some old Koinobori flags they used to fly for her brother I think. Maybe we'll have a boy one day and I can fly them for him :)

fly them for you lol. i have a few small ones in my room and a big ass fish. Ill hang it up when i move out. its in "samurai blue" too lol

Helical LSD. That's what wikipedia said. I'm sure JDM is beefier, but like I said parts availability.

OK so they both have the same lsd, that's good to know. I don't think the jdm is any beefier, just different gears. Now to look for a new us itr trans. Anyone sees one pop up for sale please let me know.

This steamer is great, best $100 I've spent this year. It performs as good as brake clean without the cost and cancer causing odors.
