Basically I'm on the fence about trying to find a gs-r locally which probably won't happen, or doing a gs-r swap into my rs and eventually going JDM front.

It's really not quite that clean :lol: Do a swap. You already know exactly what your car has wrong (if anything). With a new car it's starting all over again.
