well i thought about building the b17 but i hear the bottom ends suck on them. is this true? if i where to build the b17 should i skunk 2 stage 2 cams, skunk 2 intake manifold, skunk 2 vale springs and retainers and what kind of pistons would u go for? since this will be a n/a build im assuming high compression pistons but i cant seem to find any or know of any. i read that the b17 pistons dont match up with other b series motors. what kind of pistons would be best? but if i do swap to the type r im going to keep the b17 since it is rare and to have a back up motor.

You need to read a lot more, and not from wherever it is you're reading now. I don't know who said that B17 bottom ends suck(try telling that to Aussie, lol). Also, there are other companies besides Skunk 2, don't get me wrong they're good, but they aren't the only ones out there.

The B17 is one of the best motors every. You should never separate it from that car.

As for price on them. To put it in perspective, I sold just my oem b17 crank, rods, and pistons, for 600 dollars online. An honest sale, buyer new they had 120k miles on them. So a whole motor would be worth a lot more to the right person. Just hit up G2IC, those guys would be all over it.
