thanks guys. I may not even touch it this weekend. I'm going to the junkyard on Sat. and we'll see what kind of goodies I can find. If I can get any parts of use then I will probably do something to it on Sunday. We'll see. I'll post pics if I do anything.

Well, I had this thread moved to the members rides section since it's growing into much more than just an engine bay cleaning and wire tuck thread like originally planned.

So, THIS IS NOW MY OFFICIAL MEMBERS RIDE THREAD. I will post all future updates in this thread.

Thank you! I've put a lot of time into it so far and I've done it all with basic hand tools :shock:

Duplicolor high-temp engine paint. The engine color and trans color aren't exactly the same color gold but they're close enough.

I've spent this weekend collecting parts so far but haven't done anything to her yet. I might not even touch her this weekend but we'll see.

So ended up doing a little more work to her this weekend. Nothing too crazy but this is what I got done:


This is quite possibly the best thing I've done to her yet..... cleaned the freaking windshield, got rid of the single wiper gayness it had going on and installed both wiper arms with all new OEM clips for the cowl cover. The windshield was more disgusting than I thought. Guess that's what happens when it sits outside for 4+ years :(

The Pass. door lock had an issue and would not work right. After pulling it all out and apart I found the culprit. This part should have had a bushing/washer holding it together:

But at least the door locks work now. So i went ahead and put the door paneling back on too.


While I was at it, I got the interior back together as well.

While the dash went back together, I replaced a few broken parts like the D. Side dash vent, the cupholder, and few other random plastic parts. I aalso put an OEM sunroof switch in that I'm going to wire up with my aftermarket sunroof. One thing that bothers me about the center console area is the pocket below the stereo. It's one of those random universal pockets and it took some rigging to get it to fit and it still doesn't fit quite right. I may do womething with that in the future too but it was good enough for now.


The tach is just kinda set there for now. I needed a tach that goes up to 10K RPM and buddy happened to have one that he gave me. Even though it is MASSIVE, free is free so I'll use it. I kinda put it where it is for now just to decide if I can live with it there, but I'm open to any other mounting suggestins any of you have. Here's where I'm considering placing it. Seems like the best spot for it unless any of you can think of a better place for it.


Also threw the hood back on it still needs a good cleaning though:



Did a few other small things not worth mentioning but that's not too bad for a few hours of work.

question, not knocking, but why didnt you go ahead and shampoo the rug while you had it out?

PS that block shining through the hole looks almost as good as a functional FMIC lol

I didn't have the carpet out. Just the dash and stuff. To be honest, the carpet is so far gone at this point that I'm not even gonna waste my time on it. Eventually (much later down the road) I plan to pull it out, get the roll cage in and spray like rhino-liner all inside so there will be no carpet. I left it in for now because it's better than nothing. I stripped pretty much the full interior out of one of my old Accords and learned how bad of an idea that is for a daily driver. How you see it is how I drove it:



As ugly and disgusting as the carpet is in the teggy, it is fine for now. I'm not much of a looks kinda person anyways unless it's under the hood or in the wheel wells ;)
