91 Inegra Will start but not GO (video)

When removing the transmission to replace the clutch, do I drain the fluid or leave it in there? I was told both ways..
your going to lose some when you remove the axles but you can get away with leaving it in there. may need to add a little when your done. these trannys are very light anyways

A small amount of play is normal. There should not be play at the ends where they slide into the trans or knuckles, but the axle itself will have a small amount.
OP, it sounds like the clutch disc is gone. If you put the car in gear and there is no movement of the car at all, I have to say the clutch would be the first place I'd think to be the culprit. The loud popping you hear may be another issue entirely though.
yes but he said he had a inch play that I's a problem .

and the amount of play your saying would only be able to be seen by a dial indicator. so to a human eye there shouldn't be any noticeable play .
