That wouldn't fudge anything up permanently? Is it a bitch to drain?I haven't even seen it today lol. I have it parked in my shop, just woke up, dressed and left home. Probably going to get my VC gasket changed tomorrow and dry out my cylinders a bit. (Bad tube seals, filled them with oil.)
I think I like you, just because you're the only one who reads my build thread.
That's the way it goes, once you give up on what you're looking for, you find it.I got the VC back on. Installed new seals on the wastegate.
I ordered the valve seat I needed for the waste gate, it was $25 shipped. I was looking for a box to pack my pistons in and I picked up my wastegate box, guess what was inside? Yes.. the damn valve seal thingy.. sent the place an email to try to cancel my order before the seal shipped..
Anyways. The car is running, it's running a little.. "odd" but I will get it figured out later. I took it down the street a few times. It has a lot more "ooompth" lol.
I'll update when I get it running how I like.
Well it's boosted.
Current problems:
It still idles funny. It's got that up and down idle thing as if I had a vacuum leak.. but instead of jumping from say 1100 to 1300 rpm's, it's going from like 1100 to 1150. It's just the most minuscule surge. Can't figure out whats up with that..
I also noticed when I barely touch the throttle, it jumps up a bunch. Say I want to go from 1100 to 1200, I baaaaaaaarely put the most tiniest amount of pressure on the pedal and it goes from 1100 up to like 1400. It makes driving at slow speeds impossible. My IACV plug is messed up, so it won't stay attached to the IACV. It has fallen off twice now making the idle go all loopy. I just went out and put RTV on the IACV to hold the plug on.
Anyways.. anyone have some suggestions on my issues? Going to Google it now and see what I come up with. Didn't have any problems before the turbo went on.
Thanks for reading kids, i'll keep you posted.
That is all quite strange. How much boost is it at? My car does the little up down thing (Where you rev it, it falls real far, then stumbles back up) but it always seems to stay level once it does. It's not anything vacuum like you had suggested?Next to none.
So I bled out the coolant hoping that would help, and it didn't.
If I give the throttle a little blip it jumps up real high, kind of bounces at the top of the rev, then it goes down, then back to the original position.
For example:
Idling at 1100.
Barely touch throttle.
Jumps to 1500.
Then goes to like 1550 immediately. (As if I feathered the throttle.)
Drops down to say 700rpms, then stumbles back up to 1100 or so.
These arn't the exact numbers.. just an example.
Eh, roughly 7psi.How much boost is it at?
I sprayed starting fluid around all the vacuum lines to confirm there are no leaks. So whatever it is, is definitely not vacuum related. My car does the little up down thing (Where you rev it, it falls real far, then stumbles back up) but it always seems to stay level once it does. It's not anything vacuum like you had suggested?
Figuring out how to wire up the alarm should be......... interesting. Shock sensors for break ins. Remote start, which I will probably not install. Remote trunk popper. Warning incase my door isn't shut all the way and a hood sensor so if someone pops my hood it'll set my alarm off.An alarm is always a good idea.
:naughty: Hubba hubba. Hahaha. Looks good man. Suck that you got oil all over that shiny new engine. Was that clutch just a bitch being so short? And I dunno much about turbos and the like, is 7psi like a good middle ground for power or what?
...... You aren't helping me.... :lol:Easily the best decision ever made. Even in the process of installing it I was thinking "Wow, this is f***ing lame, never again."
But now that it's on- BEST DECISION EVER. I don't think I can ever go back haha.
I can't wait to get it tuned right. How it drives now I can barely touch the throttle or it floods the motor and basically bogs it down. It's pretty damn fast how it is too. It will probably be another month or so before I can get it fully tuned, so it's a little depressing I won't be driving it much if at all.
