In dash DVD head unit w/ motorized screen?

I was planning on installing an in dash dvd player head unit with a motorized screen, so when I turn it on the screen comes out of it and sits above. When its turned off, it looks like a normal radio. I'm sure most of you know what i mean but if you want to see an example:

I would get a better brand name like a Pioneer but you get the idea..my question is where that would fit in my integra? I have a 01 teggy and i'm sure most of you know that the A/C is above the stereo section and it comes out further on the 3rd gen integras. So when the DVD screen came out of the player, it would get stuck on the A/C..? There is no room for the screen to come out. How could I get around this? I can't really take out the A/C could I? Is there a way to install a smaller or flatter A/C section? I really want to install this kind of head unit. Any ideas?

why not get a double din and fit it in there thats what i did works and looks perfectly the only thing i cant use is the cup holder because the cup covers the touchscreen. And i installed it myself easy mode :)

I had my indash dvd player in my teg for a while. It worked out fine, it didn't get stuck on the AC/Heater controls at all and that was with a single din. I ended up taking the head unit out and putting it in our pick up truck due to needing a switch panel area for my teg. I have a Phase Linear (Jensen) and haven't had 1 issue out of it in over 2 1/2 years.

How would that help though...? Isnt a double din unit just twice as tall as a din? So when the screen comes up (like the video in the link) it would still hit the AC controls. I dont see how double din would make a difference?

And @ guy from nerk, which slot did you put it in? I was thinking maybe if you put it in the bottom it would have room but then the screen might look bad that low, and I'm not sure if the volume knobs and stuff would be in an awkward place..

My single din used to hit my AC controls and it was a pain in the ass so I switched it out for a double din

single din

double din

excuse the crappy fitment on the double, it's fixed now.

I see what your saying, but the whole point is that I really want to have one of the head units that has a motorized screen that pops out. You guys seem to be thinking that double dim is just as good as single, but I wanted the single for a few reasons...i like the way it looks when the screen slides out, how it looks less valuable when my car is parked, and i like how there are volume controls below the screen like a normal radio.

Does anyone know a good way to get the head units that I'm talking about to fit better?

if your looking for a single din that would work good check out soundstream....they make one that the screen will actually move out and away to where you set it.

About soundstream, everyone ive talked to tells me to stay away from non-brand names like boss and dual, and i haven't heard of soundstream either. Do you have a soundstream unit? Sounds like a good feature but if the dvd player skips and doesn't play discs then it won't help me much.
