If you have an automatic you need a torque convertor.

Well, yeah, they do, but not in the way he's saying. I've only ever seen one guy do a racing trans. I believe it was a Type 10? I think that's what it was called. He payed a lot for it though, I remember that.

Yeah bud (OP), the only things you can do are shift kits, some upgraded internals to handle more, or buy a pre-assembled racing trans. In Canada, a lot of people who drag use autos and build them up. If you think about it it's pretty smart. I mean, it's a perfect shift every time. How can you go wrong with that? BUT, it is a lot more expensive

Are you refering to the clutch packs inside the automatic transmission that hold the planetary gears in place?
Well, clutch's and steels hold nothing in place. But, yes I'm referring to the clutch's and steels (clutch's, clutch packs, clutch modules... whatever you want to call them) in an automatic transmission.

Yeah, I kinda figured that out... when he said clutch and didn't pluralize it to clutches... However, I just wanted to point out to all the nay sayers you can modify an automatic Honda transmission. Most believe you can only change your torque converter which just isn't the case.

Anyway, the TCI transmission kits are more geared towards Drag Racing because they can run more consistence time's then us with a shifter in our hand.

I'm gonna lie, it's be cool as hell to boost a built B18A1 and mate a racing auto trans to it. It'd be beast as f***. But's that's a LOT of money to do it. I remember at Import Face-Off '10 here in Alabama the fastest car that day was an old Toyota Starlet. Ran an 8.33 in the 1/4 mile and it had an auto tranny with a boosted RX-7 rotary in it. Thing was bad ass. I think I have some pics of it somewhere...

Edit:

Sorry not trying to jack your thread but here are those pics

I would find an old chevette (if you dont know what a chevette is google it) and throw an F20c motor and camaro rear diff with a huge turbo and run 8's!

No worth it to rebuld the auto trans... TRy some lucas or slick 50 auto trans repair it might help out till you save enuff to get a new trans... Might need a trans flush but make sure they use BG products
