i have an airbag for that side if you want it! also check a junk yard for a bumber!
It is totalled, her car is a 1994, and most likely has a lot of miles, the insurance company will not put more money into a car than it is worth, and probably won't put in half of what it is worth. The air bag alone is 975, then a NEW bumper cover is 200+, a headlight etc. Most shops buy OEM parts, and all that is not cheap, plus labor and partsYour car is NOT totaled. Don't always believe what a quote adjuster says, just use your logic.. Does the engine run? is the suspension firm? Do the tires rub? If you answered yes for all 3 questions, then your car isnt totaled!
Thats just a fender bender.
Heres an example of a wrecked car, specifically my old car I wrecked 3/30/11
It'd cost $13.8k to repair the damages.
Best of luck to you
Me too - I have an JDM ITR Momo non SRS steering wheel & I am thankful I did because otherwise I could have a fucking broken nose right nowsorry, thread was tl;dr lol, but yes, those damn airbags really bite you in the ass. I didnt even have any passengers with me in my accident. I wish there was a switch to turn it off.
I am still in GA...I am actually going to Club Bella in Duluth on Friday for my birthday partyThat blows. I'm guessing you are goin to purchase her back/?
Btw happy early birthday and are you still in ga?
I was at work when I posted my post, so somehow I only saw a broken front bumper, but now I just saw the hood and everything.. They'd probably like to total it, but if theres no frame damage and nothing in the engine bay got shifted around, and the steering wheel is still attached to the wheels, and the suspension is still firm, then its just cosmetic damages. new hood, bumper, lights.. Good as new. My car is only the bumper & passenger airbag, another CI member had that accident...SucksI was at work when I posted my post, so somehow I only saw a broken front bumper, but now I just saw the hood and everything.. No, it may be fine, but it's still totalled lol... people don't seem to understand that the prices of all these parts, paint and labor add up quick... Especially with a $900 airbagoh.. then omgwtflolbbq, your car should be fine
I guess we'll see huh? But I dont think paint and labor should be factored in.. Obviously thats going to jack up the repair total! But I would think parts for this car are really cheap/easy to find.. A single headlight for my old RX8 costs more than my new pair of taillights, headlights, bumper lights, and fog lights that I just got  lolNo, it may be fine, but it's still totalled lol... people don't seem to understand that the prices of all these parts, paint and labor add up quick... Most body shops dont buy used parts, so OEM, and if they don't go with OEM parts, then I would not accept that as a proper repair from a reputable body shop... parts are not cheap, especially the pieces she needs, headlight (most likely), airbag, bumper cover... then paint and labor... It all depends on how many miles she has, and if they take it to a body shop that doesnt use OEM parts and puts used shit on the car.I guess we'll see huh? I think you missed the part where she said they totalled it lolI guess we'll see huh?
OMG I just found out that apparently the damages exceed $4k so they are totaling Snow White...I wanna cry
nice have fun on your 21st, only happens once, lol I turn 22 in a week and a halfThe took it to United Collision, in Duluth, GA & they work with OEM Honda parts ONLY~ The airbag is $975, Airbag control module $625 & Airbag sensor Int RT $530 + labor = $4100!
It pisses me off, but I will know for sure whats going on, on Monday....Fingers crossed!
In the meantime, my 21st birthday is in 46 minutes, I am going out with my friends..Have a good night all CI members
