+1 For youget a damn bicycle and call it a day. just dont run over ants, squirrels, skunks, grass or anything alive and youll be doing Earth a favor.
x2Just be thankful you arent paying 4.25 for regular like some people in CA like me
Exactly, and that point has been made a bunch already.Yeah but not driving our car's isn't going to help "not support terrorists" in a direct way
Im sorry, but your gonna need to run for president for you to make an impact, Even if we somehow got every Honda/Acura Driver in the world, it still wouldn't be that big of a change...Interesting how many of you took the selfish way out to answer the question when we should be thinking about not only ourselves and our pocket books but our country and the world as a whole. I have no problem driving the speed limit or lower and I do go into the slow lane (There is no official fast or slow lane, all cars by law are supposed to go the same speed). Saying I need to change cars because I like to drive efficiently is like telling a football player to just lift weights and not work on cardio. It’s a combination of both things and I don’t really find it fun to go 90mph down a straight line, go fast down a windy road and tell me what’s more fun=^D 55mph has been mandated in the past, check my original post. Happy to see so many people getting engaged! Keep the conversation going...
It's not the fuel efficiency that will fund the police force, It's the fact that lowering the speed limit on roads that were designed and made to be traveled at a greater speeds will make alot more people not obey the speed limit causing more people to get speeding tickets. This is not a fairy tale world, Not many people will stick to a plan if it is a inconvenience to them. And traveling on a road that is now 55MPH that was once 70MPH is a hell of a inconvenience to a lot of people since not many people like to have a light foot. How will fuel efficiency fund the police force? That's one I haven't heard before. And going slow actually creates a safer environment out on the freeway, any slower than 55mph would be too slow and Big-Rig Trucks drive at this speed all the time(law?). By driving slower, you are more aware of what is going on around and you wake others up when they come up behind you. You don’t have to do what im saying, what I am saying is that if we all made a change, it would make others change and we would all benefit, there is no arguing that. And, traffic would be reduced, accidents reduced, stress reduced, so many benefits, so little reason not to do it.
If it's not the passing lane, it's the slow lane IMO. By the way, who goes 60? Lol.OK kind sir(op). Allow me to correct m self as there is no 'official slow lane'. .. go 55 if you please. Its not much of a big deal here in WA anyways the speed limit is only 60. But....just stay out of the passing lane and call it a day!. There any many other way to cut down on oil consumption.
Thats only if everyone is going the same speed, but everyone's not and the speed limit won't change that.By driving slower, you are more aware of what is going on around and you wake others up when they come up behind you. Enough said.in theory its a good idea, but people are too independent to actually do something like this.
OP does lolIf it's not the passing lane, it's the slow lane IMO. By the way, who goes 60? Lol.
