i never said(meant) that if you swear you were less intelligent than people that don't.Okay, so it's not all TECHNICALLY adults, but given that it's for car enthusiasts, the youngest on the site would be 16..old enough to decide if they want to swear or not. And swearing has nothing to do with maturity.
What people actually SAY and how it's used (+ how often) DOES, but swearing in itself does not determine how mature someone is.
It has nothing to do with manners. We're not at dinner with the Queen here.
And everyone that has the attitude and opinion of those that swear being less mature/less intelligent and basically LOWER than them can go F-U-C-K yourself.
Your arrogance is a far worse trait than my swearing.

the point that i was making was that I chose not to.
everyone CAN swear. its not a big deal. My Point is what is the need to swear. because someone told you that you couldnt? go ahead swear all you want out loud. at your house outside anywhere really. we can't stop you since everyones mind is already decided that they wanted to be that guy/girl.
maybe theyre could be an option where people could choose in they're user cp that you can decide to sensor or not to sensor.
I'm not choosing sides here. I could care less weather this site just swear words or censored them out.
As long as the people on here are still chill and we all help each other out.

I also don't care whether people swear or not, but I don't need someone restricting me, telling me what to do. I agree with giving people the option to censor the forums.
And if this was really put in place because of some sponsor, then they're not worth the shit their selling, in my opinion, and should maybe focus more on their product and sales rather than the foul language used on a car forum.

I'm sorry but when I read a thread that asks for an opinion and I get slammed for stating mine, someone's got to get their understanding of freedom of speech refurbished.

Just for the sake of argument, you know everything else about me due to the fact that I cuss, so I might as well tell you:
I'm studying Engineering at McMaster University (which was ranked one of the top 100 schools in the world), and had a 90%+ average through all of high school;
My mother is Italian and a strict Roman Catholic, and;
My father was raised by a very English family that basically defined good manner, and I was raised with the same expectations of good manner.
Just figured I'd throw that out there, it might make your job of judging me easier next time.

freedom of speech allows you to express you opinions yes, but accoording to what you agreed to in the the begining before you even became a member dictates how you are allowed to express them.

OK, Just so you guys know. This thread has nothing to do with why CI has a swearing sensor. If you guys look at Jay Jay's news this even spread to Club Civic too.
Some site vendors who sell there products and give us those great deals are not going to want to deal with a forum that is full of swearing and cussing. So i think Jay Jay picked the right choice. With all of the sponsors that are on here Jay Jay needs money to fund a site like this. When he looses vendors he looses money to fund the site.
Either
A. He shut down CI.
B. He added a swearing sensor.

This is what my comment is directed at. You targeted me with that comment, because I started the thread. Thats why I laughed at you in my response to it citing your age. I am 5 years older. No that doesnt mean I am "all knowing," but Ive been around the block a bit longer than you. I was in college when you were in middle school. You are telling people to grow up, and you are (probably) just out of high school. Just because you dont mind people throwing around curse words like its a job doesnt mean its needed. There is no needing to grow up on my end, I just think some words are uncalled for in many situations I have seen.What a royal shame. Man... thank you. I hate when people generalize others by such small exposure. im in college and i curse so what..... i think if people stop trippin about words we would be okay.Its just letters on a screen my man, has nothing to do with the level of education one has or doesn't have. I have heard my college professors drop an F bomb during lectures, doesn't change my opinion of them one bit.
Whats so wrong about cuss words unless we make it wrong. Same with the n word. im black and i say the n word about 100 million times in my everyday convo with other blacks. no one trips. i think white people trip over the n word more than black people do. if some one isnt disrespecting you then its cool.

If it were site vendors who put pressure on Justin like that, I feel that as a member in good standing of Club Integra I deserve to know who they are. That way I can show my displeasure of their policies by not purchasing any products from them.
They most certainly have the right to tell Justin that he has to censor his site or they will pull their funding. It's their money, they can support whomever they choose. I also have the right to support whom I choose, and mine is expressed by the refusal to purchase parts from them. Even if it means paying more. Yes, I'm that stubborn. I will pay more to support companies that I feel are who I want to do business with.
