Connect cop radar directly to car

Hey everyone, does anyone know if there is a way to wire a cop radar to the car directly instead of using the cig lighter? I don't want to take up the cig lighter because i use that for my gps unit. Any ideas or a write up would be great. Thanks

You can always buy a splitter so you can have 2 plugs instead of 1.

cut power wire to radar
get spare wire
jam hot wire under a constantly hot side of a fuse
splice ground wire into another ground or just tie it to the frame

plive it into a poer wire n ground
yup!

the way i had it in mine to not have to cut the wire off the radar itself i went out and got an extension piece to cut up. plug your radar detector to that and cut the other end off to expose the wires

after you have the wires showing put the negative(black or clear)) to the ground wire off the after market deck wiring harness and the power wire(red) red/power wire on the aftermarket wiring harness. when its all set and done it will turn on when your deck comes on :)

if you dont have an aftermarket deck then i think you might be able to use the wires off of the stock clock

Actually, most major companies sell direct connect kits for cars, that plug into fuse boxes, I know Viper makes one for theres.

awesome, thanks everyone. I had a general idea of how to do it but wanted to make sure i wouldn't fry something important. That'll be my next project, running the wires n stuff. I just got done installing my s2000 antenna.

My antenna looks similar to that, except it's not slanted or from an S2K lol.
It was a cheap fix for a broken auto-antenna. ;)
