Yeah i'd love LSVtec whole conversions for 500, ill package em up and sell em for 1k and profit 500 bucks lol. Hell you cant touch a GSR/B16 head for under 250 unless its missing cams or trashed.

i cannot do the LS/vtec... wish I had the tools to do it, since it requires some drilling, from what I read? I also cannot figure out what all the tutorials mean, on how to do it. They aren't all that clear?!

You don't have to drill. You have to thread on of the passages(can't recall if it's oil or coolant at this very moment), and screw in the plug.

to the clown that had the little research comment... I never said that the teggy never came with or didnt have a B16 orig.
I said imo....that the b16 is meant for civics. there IS a reason why honda started putting B18 motors in the teggys.

I am looking for answers, "WAR 178" This is not a flame war, or anything closely related to that... I don't want to see this crap in this thread... This is a serious question, and only serious people answering questions apply!

Thank you to all of the people helping me out! I may look into the LS/V swap... If it's seriously that easy, it might make it more worth it for me to do... I thought there was more in the swap, I.e.: Routing wires to the ECU... lol If you do this swap, do you need another ECU, or can you flash the current ECU in order to take full advantage of the swap?

Did a bit of research and my head is spinning... lol I think finding a b20 engine would be easier, considering it bolts up to all my existing engine parts... I am only looking at this, as I do not have the cash to go any other route, and right now, as it sits, if I spend too much more on this car, my wife will shoot me! lol

www.tigerjapanese.com for buying a b20. I have bought 6 motors from them and have had 0 issues! I paid 515 shipped for my last b20b, it came with injectors, distributor, crank pulley, alternator, all of which I sold and made half my money back on lol.

The only problem I can see with a Japanese motor, from the JDM standpoint, is that I live in Cali... The car will have to be smogged, as far as I know... lol Wait, this is a family transfer, since it was my wife's car... lol I live in a county, where the car has to only be smogged once in a lifetime, but there is also this little deal of it being non opped... I don't know if they need to inspect the vehicle, when I register it again?

Idk much about the smog laws since I live in Ohio where I dont have to deal with it lol. Call up the different engine importers and see if they are smog legal...

i highly doubt it, since they are unregulated in Japan... Which is why they have to remove them at 25-35k miles... lol

I was always under the impression that they were removed with such low mileage due to Japan having stricter smog laws then even cali. Call your local smog station, they will have the answer for you. Good luck to ya!!

Something suggested earlier in this thread, was something about getting a wiring harness and ECU for an OBD1, and the intake off of a 92-93 integra. I assume from the B18B1, which would give me about 10 more HP. I think this would be the better amount of power, for the least amount of cash. I was also thinking about getting the skunk2 cams suggested by Samurai.

I think sticking with the current engine may be a viable option, as soon as I steam clean it, to see what I really have to work with... I want to check for cracks, and all that jazz, and possible warping, that would cause issues... Would adding an aftermarket header give me more HP? I don't know how this one looks, but I want to say it has a crack in it, just by the way it sounded before it was parked for repairs!
