Hello All, hope you motorheads can help with this problem.
First of all, I love my 21 year old red rocket! You won't hear any bashing from me. If a car is so new you can't hear the engine, I don't want one. I luv 34 mpg with the engine winding up near 4,000 rpms in 5th. I got it for free with a fried clutch. It has 120K and was a lawn ornament for a year at my friend's house. Retired my 86 Toyota PU with 400K miles and been drivin' the Acura ever since. I've been doing my own repairs since I was a kid.
So, it has those automatic seat belts. The passenger side works fine, however, the driver's side has issues. When I get in and turn on the ignition, everything is normal and belt is retracted. When the door closes, the belt slides to the rear and drops into the locked position. Whenever I open the door, the belt will not retract. The only time it'll retract is door closed, turn off ignition and remove key--then it retracts. If I turn off engine and open door w/o removing key--will not retract. Then remove key--no retract. Shutting door, turn on ignition, turn off ignition and remove key--belt retracts. It seems like my Haynes manual covers everything but the seatbelt system. If anyone has a wiring diagram, that would be great. Thanks
