Hey guys, so I havent seen a good DIY (as usual) so this is mine after trying to fix my wires to fit a new horn in.
Materials:
2 plyers (to pull crimped connector off wire)
A knife
Wire crimper
14 to 16 gauge slide female connectors (2 bucks at walmart)
Step 1. Take the front bumper off. You dont have to, but it makes things a lot easier (unless you have no idea how to take off the front bumper either lol).
Step 2. Disconnect plug on horn and unscrew the horn. (just showing the plug)
Step 3. Use a pair of plyers and pull out the cords out of the plug.
The wires shoud have connecters that are just small versions of the one below.
Step 4. Use a couple pairs of plyers (and some major "tinkering") and pull off the metal connectors to show the bare wire.
^^^Right is already done, and the left is in the process of being taken apart. You can give a good tug to pull the wire out from the crimp.
Step 5. Crimp on the new connectors to the wires.
Step 6. Cut the insulation around the wires shorter, so you can pull the wires out more. (if needed)
Step 7. Connects the holding brackets to the horn. (horn should have come with them.)
Before
After
Step 8. Connect the wires to the new horn! And mount it on!
BTW. The yellowish wire was positive and the darker one was negative (if your horn calls for that). Atleast it was in my integra (1994 rs manual).
P.S. you might want to test the horn first before you install it. Mine was louder than the stock horn, but higher pitched This happened to me lol.
