did you check the timing belt when you put it back in time. also did you make sure you put the #1 piston at tdc. you might have put it on the wrong stroke.as for washing your engine bay it will not hurt anything. i wash mine once a month and my wifes 2006 civic never had a problem. the only thing it would cause is a miss fire if water got in to your dist. which is fixable by just cleaning it up. i would double check your timing and make sure you got it set right

yea apparently when i was frustrated and working in like 90 degree heat at midnight i mis aligned my crank pully for tdc.

I bet the reason why it wouldnt run right initially was from the distributor being wet. Then you checked your timing thinking it was off and ended up actually getting out of time.

yea thats very possible....im just relieved it runs again and i got a spare main relay just in case.

now another question. Since none of the vacume solenoids are hooked up to anything and i dont care about emmisions stuff, can i remove all that off the fire wall? OH and i did find out that i can use the MAP sensor on my throttle body, i just need to extend the wires.

Your car originally had a B17 in it? I would keep the plugs just in case you ever swap in another VTEC motor down the road.

Since you got it running, you should stop in mobile and we'll compare your car to mine on how all these hoses are ran and maybe we could figure out what the last person that owned your car did.

the vin pulls up to be a LS, i thought it would have had a b18a1 in it originally? no?
do those plugs go to vtec related sensors? like the solenoid and knock sensor?

haha i know what you mean about tires. Last week I was driving my car and had a nail go through my sidewall so Ive been driving my truck since. The car is sitting in the driveway with a donut on it now and I can't drive it anywhere
