Idle Overheating

my radiator was empty because the weld cracked on the bottom.
and i did just that.
overheat at every stop light because it was half empty... once i added coolant it was good.
check that also

hahahaha u guys r going to keep going at it for days so i say some body has to vot my vote goes to u DumaDa9 .. j13 i think has no idea what the fuck he is say ive had my switch for about 2 years now and ive never had no problems and today i kept an eye on my temp gauge and saw no movement from the temp my buddy had on his dc2 whitch does not have a switch .....

u tell him DumaDa9 hahahah...

ok, if it was a thermostat, coolant, or radiator, his car would over heat at random times, no matter the driving conditions, if your car is over heating ONLY while not moving, it obviously means that your fan (which assists the car in keeping cool in times like this) is either faulty, or the fan switch is faulty, if the op has posted a thread asking how to keep the fan on, i would assume he's already tested it to make sure it still works, and i would expect you to know, since you're apparently so knowledgable, that just because the fan doesnt turn on, doesnt mean that its broken
Wow the first post from you that I understand. And yes my mistake. His fan works ok. If he has overheating problems he should check the temp fan switch or the relay. Running a fan all the time, isn't going to solve anything.

yes, it will keep the car from over heating. Running the fan solved my problem
