Well another day passes, and more work is done. Started out with my CMC. Drained the fluid from the reservoir, unhooked the hose and caught the remaining fluid on some towels. Unscrewed the fitting on top, then wen under the dash.
I had cut some wires when pulling the dash and so I pushed the spaghetti to the side. The nuts werent the easiest to get to, but not terribly difficult either. Unscrewed them, popped the pin out, and slid the old guy out and brought the new one in. Havent bled the clutch yet, nor did I remember to bend the cotter pin, so I need to do that tomorrow before I forget...
New v Old
Then I got to the dash. I wanted to take the heater core out, and did not realize the headache I was getting myself into. I drained the coolant and pulled my intake off to get better access to my heater hoses. The clamps were spun away from me, and I could not contort nor get a set of pliers in to get a hold of them to get the hose off. No problem, I can go through the dash and just snap the old one off.
This is where things start to suck. I have a rough time getting the blower unit out. Turns out the AC unit partially covers it. Now I need to remove the AC to get the central vent system out. Guess what? I now need to drain the refrigerant out of the AC system. But wait... I drained the coolant? and I have my alarm wires strewn about? Yep. Sucks for me.
So I changed gears. Got some food because I hadnt eaten in quite some time, and got to the wiring. I started with this, and have made quite a bit of progress. I have everything done, except extending a couple sensors to the brain, which has been relocated. The wires need to be either loomed up, or wrapped in tape. (I think I will fork out some $ for some looming...)
Sorry no after shot.
