If you get it to kick out 250hp it won't be any more reliable than a turbo motor (a LOT LESS room for error and much tighter clearances) and you won't be able to use it a a daily driver (won't idle properly, will get terrible gas mileage, and most definitely won't pass any kind of inspection/emission test your state has). Just trying to get you set straight on that beofre wasting your money on a build like this and then expect to drive it daily.

Wait... What?
not to derive you from your N/A build but...for the money you spend on a slammin all motor build....you could have achieved a higher goal of hrsp with a turbo....though the reliablility wouldnt be as garenteed as N/A..

my boy used to daily his ITR at 26psi,dynoed around 500whp built/tuned by J.Evans, car was dailied at 17psi....after he got tired of this set up...dont ask me how...lol, he wanted to go N/A, now crankin out around 230hrsp on his ITR, ctr pistons, some retarded big lobed buddy club clams that can barely hold n idle, with head package to go with it..his plans are to track the car on few local road courses....but its his DD:roll:

he old me the N/A build was almost as much as the turbo set up minus the Evans tuning.
I would have to disagree with the reliability statement. I am almost positive that he could achieve a higher hp goal for the same amount of money and better reliability as opposed to an n/a build. For example, it's much cheaper to make 250whp with f/i as opposed to n/a. It would be more reliable and you would have much more room for bigger hp when the need arises. :)

yea i thought i read it somewhere saying that you need to but i didnt.. well i dont know if the dude did it or not. i have a skunk2 pro cam and a regular gsr pistons? lol i ddint touch the pistons yet, 2.5 exhaust, man wont that be too big? since i need to drop it...sometime soon.. and hytech replica is a good header, but i need something to that'll pass inspection and i dont have the right equipments to lift the car my car up and do it myself so i dont want to waste $$ on labor lol well looking for a comptech :D 4-1 but they're mad expensive tho :/
You definitely need to get some high compression pistons. A Comptech header isn't good enough for your power goals.

My stroked B17 idles fine and will easily push over 250hp with a few exhaust and intake changes. It also drives very nice and gets better gas milage then my stock MS3 if driven nice.

I believe that. I know this guy who drives a turbocharged AP2 and he gets close to 40 MPG if he doesn't smash it all the time. Gas mileage is all up to the driver.

Honestly I think If I flog the shit out of both of them for an entire tank, the MS3 will run out first.

I'm not calling you a liar so don't take it that way, but I have seen, built and riden in several high HP NA builds. The VTEC ones seem to have less idle issues for obvious reasons, but all the non-VTEC builds all seem to have to idle above 1k and closer to 1.5k RPM or they jsut sound like a nasty loping V8. lol Don't know the specs on your motor or the one he plans to build but after a certain point, more power comes with certain sacrifices.

if you want power and emissions complaint, look to the greddy or edelbrock turbo kits
x2. That's about as fast as you'll get on "street legal" power upgrades.

Even the cams, hy-tech replica header, pistons and stuff aren't going to be "CARB" legal.

cheesesteaks..yummy :)
crappp, i agreeed with the k series in and call it a day soo much easier lol, i mean gas mileage doesnt really matter to me it jus the inspection thats the problem.. or i can fully built this engine then when the inspection come, i'll jus drop like a b16 or something in, then after inspection i'll jus redo the whole thing! genius!!!!!! not -.- poopie wow i didnt know that 250whp was that much on integra.. well that make me rethink, i just want something fast that can take out a stock rsx-s, celica gts, eclipse gst, etc... (dont ask me where i got those cars from) lol

Trust me, the K swap isn't anywhere near easy.

And yeah don't get a B16. Just save up and buy another GSR B18 and then swap it for the built motor before your inspection.

If you've got cams, I/H/E, you should be beating those cars already.....
