definitely do a H2B
Well, originally we wanted to do that, but the H22A tranny already comes with the LSD tranny.... So we'll probably keep the H22A LSD tranny. Maybe later on down the road we'll get the adapter plate & B16 tranny.
The Type S is the JDM 5th gen 220hp Prelude. The Type SH is a 5th gen that is the same as all USDM Preludes with the exception of crappy ATTS
Yeah, my bad. We looked up the specs and the Type S has 223hp & 163 tq. Pretty decent if you ask me, lol.
honda swap is the best bet for motor swaps. and excellent steal!
Thanks. And yes, it was a good steal. The Type S H22A goes for almost $3000. If anything, we might re-sell it for something else lol....
i hate that motor
Why? Cause it's heavy? lol
i hope the swap goes well man, congrats on the find
:D

Well, as you may notice now; we didn't get a chance to go over there last night... :ban: Lol....

But we're definately going over tonight to snap some pictures and thoroughly inspect the motor. Is there anything I should look for? I already have on my "Look For" list:
Alternator
Water Pump
Starter

A couple questions:

1. My buddy said that the water pump & alternator is interchangeable between the H22A and my existing B18B1... Is that true???

2.

3. And can we use the F22 alternator and stuff if our B18 stuff won't work? He's got a spare F22 laying around I think.

4. Can we use the F22 cam gears? Like get 2 of them lol.

5. What wiring harness will we need, when using a chipped P28 ECU?

Hmmm..... Anyone else know anything? I'm trying to join some Prelude and Accord forums too.

UPDATE:
Still haven't had a chance to go over a check out the H22A anymore. Last night, my buddy was busy I guess.

But we have the clutch & flywheel in out possession for now. Beast of an ACT 6-puck clutch.... I wonder if i's got decent life left. I've never seen a clutch before, so I dunno. It was made in 2004 apparently.

I think it's still just OEM.....

I weighed the whole clutch & flywheel and it was a whopping 30lbs. I think it was like 17-20lbs flywheel.

I fear this clutch is going be stiff as hell. Isn't there supposed to be little spring thingy's in the clutch plate?

I R Lost..!
just doing some research and came across this thread... i actually have a jdm h22a myself..

thats quite a project.. (still need axles, jumper harness, motor mounts, dont forget brakes and a stiffer spring rate for the front.. not that it really matters) and man what a steal!!?!? are you sure its a real type-s motor...? got any pics of it...?

id try searching on preludepower on the few questions you had about interchangable parts...

1. that just sounds wack.. ls water pump same as h22a water pump.. :???:

2. F22 or h23 axles will work but they have to be manuel, at least the tranny side should be, dont know about the motor side.

3.the alternators are interchangeable, but the amptitudes are most likley off.. the H22a 95 amp, the F22... idk..

4.you cant use the F22 cam gears. im sure you can pick up some usdm h22 cam gears for about $60 if you look around
