Sorry im new to this site and to the integra scene.

Im buying an integra off a friend thats done massive body work to it and I was planning on getting a set of rims for it after I purchase it.
The car is a rhd, jdm front end conversion widebody integ. Would a set of 17x8.5's w/ an offset of +45 w/ 225 or 235/40/17 rims fit w/ out rubbing?

First, i'd like to thank you for responding =)

my friend used to have 18x7.5 volk te37's than when he got out of the car game and got into mma training he sold them and the turbo kit.

let me go find the pictures.

thanks again

appreciate your help.

I most likely won't drop it that low like you see in the pictures.

he was dropped w/ some thing rubber bands.. 205?x35x18. i think i might be able to pull off a 40 w/ a set of 17's.

i just hope an 8.5 inch wheel isn't bad. i want it to close to being flush w/ the wide body.

eventually i do wanna slap a turbo kit on but keep it mild. the motor already has forged pistons/rods.

don't want to have a good looking car w/o it being able to go

thanks again

really, no ones going to help or provide assistance... wow.. what great help...
Theres no need for that. This site doesnt get as much traffic as some others, so you should be patient when you ask a question. From where Im at, on the east coast, it says you made this thread 12:37AM. The time difference definitely limits you to who's available at any given time. The members on the west may still be up, the the other half of the country is probably going to sleep/already sleeping.

And back to the topic. You might want to find out specifically what wheels/tires your friend was running and see if he encountered any issues with it rubbing. If you raise it up some and run a smaller tire than him, you definitely wont run into any issues. at 205/35/18 you have a 23.65" diameter, and at 205/40/17 you have 23.45" . The whole diameter will be almost a quarter inch smaller from end to end. That will change the camber slightly, which affects the toe-in. I cant tell you how much it will change, but you might want to get an alignment nonetheless.<--( is that one word?):???: If you change the actually width of the tire to 8.5" that will change the measurments as you probably know. 8.5 is ... 215.9mm? I dont know how much tires stretch , but I supppose you would be running 215's. 215/35/17 = 23.92", .27 greater than what you think he was running.

I think I might have just confused myself, but thats because I have a test in an hour :( Try to find out how much he increased the width of the rim before you go buying the width you "hope/want" to fit.

because of the body kit you might be able to do 215 but but like the others said you should check with the guy you are buying the car from and see what he had and if it rubbed.

That Integra was on Honda Tuning a few years ago right? And this thread is in the wrong section.

not sure how its in the wrong section, its a 2000 integra. it was actually on the cover of HCI a few years back.

to the others: thanks for the response. I'll edit my post. Guess i assumed i'd get a response w/in 3hours. all good.
my friend honestly doesn't remember what the offest was or even the stock rim dimensions. its been in the garage for at least 2 years only would start it up here and there. Once he got out of the car scene, all info left his mind since he started to train in mma.
only thing i knew was that the volks he had were 18x7.5. Im going to run a 17x8.5 and the tires i plan on running either 225/235 x40x17. Its not going to be dropped low.

but i do appreciate the responses. thanks again
also to add, this is my first honda/acura. Im a nissan head and still have my nissan that i just got back from getting a swap done.

thanks

not sure I haven't measured it. When i get back from picking up my sentra in lousiana, i'm going to buy a CAI, a full size radiator and another fan since it only had the half size and 1 fan when it was turbo'd so i'll be purchasing that next week.

Why do you want to run such a wide-ass rim? You can run the low offset with a not-so wide wheel&tire combo.... An 17x8.5 is a pretty damn big wheel. Do you know what kind of wheel you want? I can't imagine many companies making that big of a rim in 4lug.

im looking into the rota d2's. A rim thats cheap and looks good.

also, i rather run a wider rim so i can run a wider tire as well. In a couple months, i plan on boosting the integ to give it some go. I don't want it to be all show and no go.
