really, no ones going to help or provide assistance... wow.. what great help...
Theres no need for that. This site doesnt get as much traffic as some others, so you should be patient when you ask a question. From where Im at, on the east coast, it says you made this thread 12:37AM. The time difference definitely limits you to who's available at any given time. The members on the west may still be up, the the other half of the country is probably going to sleep/already sleeping.
And back to the topic. You might want to find out specifically what wheels/tires your friend was running and see if he encountered any issues with it rubbing. If you raise it up some and run a smaller tire than him, you definitely wont run into any issues. at 205/35/18 you have a 23.65" diameter, and at 205/40/17 you have 23.45" . The whole diameter will be almost a quarter inch smaller from end to end. That will change the camber slightly, which affects the toe-in. I cant tell you how much it will change, but you might want to get an alignment nonetheless.<--( is that one word?):???: If you change the actually width of the tire to 8.5" that will change the measurments as you probably know. 8.5 is ... 215.9mm? I dont know how much tires stretch , but I supppose you would be running 215's. 215/35/17 = 23.92", .27 greater than what you think he was running.
I think I might have just confused myself, but thats because I have a test in an hour
Try to find out how much he increased the width of the rim before you go buying the width you "hope/want" to fit.
