WELL! I'm DEF glad I am not the only one! I was starting to think it was a belt too, but it started right after I did the inkake. Thanks a lot!

this is very common actually. all of my friends cars do that after they put on an intake, mine gives a loud sucking noise at idle and when i press the gas it whistles.
when i put mine on i was a n00b and thought it was a belt too, but one of my friends told me it was normal for some intakes, and i would just have to deal with it. it annoyed me for the first week or so, but i dont even notice it anymore unless i listen for it. i also have to press the gas pretty far to get it to whistle, just normal driving doesnt make it whistle, only when getting up to highway speeds, and then it goes right back to the sucking noise when im driving at a steady pace, i LOVE it!

Yeah, my friend had that problem on his old shitty 92 RS, but one day we popped it open and noticed the whole intake was off.... LMFAO... then we were driving on the highway and forgot to put the hood pins in after a daily wal mart trip..
driving down the highway and the hood FLIES UP AND SMASHES THE WINDSHIELD ON US. im just glad the glass didnt shatter....lmfao... going 60 on the highway + not seeing = not good...

oh GOSH! LMAO, that sounds kinds SCARY!!! i have a smaller, wider filter, but it was making the whistle noise before i changed the filter, i actually changed the filter because i thought there was something wrong with the other one. LOL! I suck at this and really need a man to help me out! the only guy friend that i have to help me is building up his honda civic, and the asshole is like trying to out-do me or something. HAHA! oh well, he just put an apexi neo on his civic, and now it runs like shit. HAHA serves him right! thanks again guys! BIG help!
