Well, I stumbled across a deal that I just could not pass up, a 1998 Acura Integra GS-R 150k Miles MINT condition body, well taken care of interior, engine, and body, got it for $1,200 cash(this car was so babied by a lady she was the only owner and her father works for honda and does all the upkeeps on it). It's black fully loaded 5 speed moon roof and all. I am looking into working this car up, now my question is I had an offer for to buy a Type R Engine has 87k Miles on it, now should I just rebuild my current engine and go for mods and save some money or do you think the mileage is a factor and the Type R engine is more so worth just swapping out my engine for it? The engine I have now is the Vtech 1.8L DOHC engine, I know the type R engine is the b18c I always hear about but would rebuilding the engine I have be better off for me? Any info I would appreciate! :suprise:

Welcome. I would rather stick with the B18C1 (GS-R) engine. You can build it up and make it better than an ITR engine.

B18C1 - USDM GS-R
B18C - JDM ITR

VTECH = FAIL (There is no "H" in VTEC)

UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
Wow, it sounds like you got a really good price for the car!

Welcome to CI =]
B18C1 = GS-R; B18C5 = Type-R

I am currently in work, so typing quick without proof reading was my own fault. I know it's Vtec but I was in a rush my my brain was not keeping pace with my hands. Now another question, what kind of intake system comes with the GS-R model? I am told the stock one is a pretty nice one and should not be replaced unless I am looking to spend my money on a high end one, is this true?

Yes, $1,200 was a great deal, why I said I could NOT pass it up. It was my sisters boyfriends sister who sold me it, and she was so delicate with the car. So from what I am told, not much stress has been put on this car! :) I will post pictures tomorrow when its light out enough to take some! :) sweet sweet deal!

The GS-R comes with a dual-stage intake manifold. I wouldn't upgrade it unless you plan on building the motor.

Thank You for the feedback, I am just trying to figure out my best options I have to go forward with. I am at a lost with Honda Engines and Acura Parts. Any place I should go to in order to find the best deal for some after market products?
