i'll move the thread.

But you can go pretty hefty on a shot with a motor like that. Even with the bumped compression the sleeves and increased piston strength can take it. The stock bottom end can handle a 75 wet shot. But the thing is anything over 75-80 id look into a direct injection system over a single jet intake fogger. Your still going to have to get it tuned for the spray to be safe. But id be worried about anything over 75 wet on a DD car. Nitrous hickups scare me :scurred:

So id do a 75 wet shot with a nice kit (ZEX) retard the timing a bit, and plan on tuning it.

Disco is running like a 200 shot on here and Mteg is running around 100 shot I think. Disco also has a built motor and he's got a pretty sick setup.

Really? Shit, lol. that would just scare me in a 4cly, and I think nitrous can be safe, im a supporter. HAHA, 250! thats like doubling the power! haha. You would go through a bottle QUICK! Damn, I mean my 75 shot was a kick in the ass

Bottom line is I was supposed to have a gsr swap lined up but my buddy sold it to his brother instead and I thought about LSVTEC but it all comes down to cost and reliability and no its still not gonna be cheap to do a built nitrous setup but it will still cost less then the rest! And also nitrous won't be used everyday so motor will be daily reliable but as speedin said it will be a kick in the ass when needed plus my boy Charles down in KC ran a LS nitrous setup in his civic years ago and owned some ass lol! Goin with a 100 shot by the way with the zex direct port kit it comes with SB lines instead of hardlines!Woot Woot!thanx guys!

Actually I'm only running a 75 shot but a 100 would probably be safe. I just had the head off not too long ago and everything looked fine. Forged internals will defentally help. Just make sure to upgrade your fuel pump if going higher than 75. A tune is a must also. You don't want to lean out or not have the ignition retarded enough.

im about to put a 75 shot on my car since im selling my turbo stuff for a while. then when i boost it again, the nitrous is staying on :)

I have a buddy that uses nitrous on his eclipse. Since the turbo takes so long to spool up, the nitrous really helps out. Idk, nitrous and boost is kind of scary. At that point getting a good tune is super important.

Extremely important! But there are lots of people who get a large laggy turbo that produces mean top end power and just use nitrous to spool it. A lot of people run this setup. It's not really nitrous on top of boost though, they will use like a 30-50 shot at like 3k or 4k just to get that laggy turbo up to speed and then the nitrous will shut off at a preset boost level. After a turbo that sized is up and spinning good the nitrous phases out and the turbo will take care of the rest

a tune is always important. adding nitrous to the turbo is no different than adding nitrous without a turbo. it will actually lower your IAT's and help with detonation. it will push the efficiency map to the right too, so you can run more boost. i am going to use a msd window switch so it comes on right after vtec engagement and shuts off right before rev limiter

And I never ran more than a 195 shot makin 350hp and 315 tq with tons of tuning (I have an in house dyno at the shop I work for) and lots of safety measures. I no longer run that big a shot because nitrous is too unpredictable and unstable. I am now boosted and still using two stages of nitrous to spool the turbo and intercool the charge.

patrick are you running Hondata? If so then theres no need for the MSD hondata can control the nitrous for you.
