Are short shifters really worth getting? also i was wondering if there was a way to make shifting smoother, when im shifting it doesnt exactly "drop" in, i sorta have to pull/push. its not too bad im just wondering if theres someway to clean it up a bit? -thanks for the help/advice.

yes... they will not really improve your shifting too terribly much, but ur shifts will be faster, and more precise... plus they look awesome with the knob sitting a couple inches lower than it should... they will really help you when ur in a close race, and too long of a shift will put u behind, i.e. from 4th to 5th...

as for the sloppy feeling, a simple bushing from prothane will fix that... that are made from polyurethane and will make even a stock shifter feel more precise... deff. worth buying even if your not doin the short shifter upgrade... i think they cost 15 bucks on summitracing.com or prosteetonline.com

If you looking to make your shifts smoother try replacing the the shift bushings with urethane ones and changing your tranny fluid. A weighted know, such as the skunk2, with makes your shifts easier also.

if you are going the short shifter route def invest in a weighted shift knob. skunk2 gets my thumbs up. but i think im going to go with a mugen knob on my new car. eventually i might get a short shifter. i go back and forth. i had a BM shifter / s2 knob on my DA. it does feel notchy, but you get used to it. the point is you dont have to "move" the shifter as far, as the pivot point is higher and for every movement you do up top there is more movement down at the linkage, making a shorter throw.

and if you didn't understand my post, when you buy a short shifter and compare stock side by side with a short shifter, you will understand. its pretty easy to change in and out, so if you don't like it no biggie. you can always resell it
