NON-ricey cat back exhaust

Integra God
a cat back just states the exhaust starts where the cat would end. just use a test pipe or extend the downpipe to the exhaust

hmm im just gonna say yes on this one... everyone on this thread is saying either to get one or not to because it will melt the insides blocking my exhaust... imma just get new down pipe and get 2.5 or 3'' piping

wtf? i'm confused...what are you talking bout?

your not even turbo charged how are you going to get a down pipe?

2.5 is plenty big enough for a turbo setup it will have a nice growl to it just about any company out there make amazing catbacks it depends on what you want

its a dc chasis...but a rsx s exhaust on a integra? hmmmm....never heard of that before.
Welding.... Basically get the 2.5 header of choice. Find a RSX-S exhaust. Hack off the resonator and the muffler. Then weld them somewhere in your 2.5in piping. Bam done. I think the hangers work just fine on the muffler.

speedin, i dont know what power level you are talking about, but even a high flow cat will burn up and cause a lot of backpressure on a turbo car. i would not ever run any cat, whether its a high flow or not. this info is from jeff evans:
"Turbos and cats don't work together so if you're gung-ho on having a cat, don't go turbo...the cats internals will just melt and it will be clogged from the heat the turbo generates."
A HIGH FLOW cat will not cause any issues whats so ever. The factory cats are constructed in a cost effective way. A high flow unit will not cause much back pressure, actually I bet you will get more back pressure from 2 bends in the exhaust then you do from a high flow cat. As far as burning up, lol, hell no. try it. IDK what kind of turbo your using but so long as its not encased in magma I doubt youll be burning up a high flow cat. Cats have a higher tendency to flake, but that again is the oem design. Aftermarket high flow units are constructed much better.

The after market high flow units let the air pass through them much easier and end up trapping less excess crap in them so they will even last you much longer

What Jeff evans is more than likely talking about is racing set-ups. And no matter how much your intake says "off road use only" and your stripped interior says track car, your not. You are nowhere near the demands of those cars and will not be affected running a high flow cat on your 400whp turbo 4.

wow ok so im not getting an exhaust until i have the turbo and from there i will run prolly the apexi or oem talked about earlier yay problem solved! i would rather not do any hacking on an exhaust pipe when i can buy a perfectly good new on with not attacking it required! but thanks to everyone! haha even though some people made no sense like i did a parts!

here is a respectable COA for you.

1) Get your turbo kit and install it.
2) Take the car to a nearby performance shop (or GOOD exhaust shop, with a Mandrel Pipe bender)
3) If taken to a performance shop (a respectable one, not a ricer shop) ask them what would be the best piping diameter for your overall setup and your intentions for the car
all of these will play a factor:
*Motor
*Turbo Size
*Power Goals
*What kind of sound you want
4) Once you've decided what you want/need for your setup, have them bend up your respective pipe diameter exhaust system. (Since you're boosted, DON'T bother with any resonators. The turbo itself does a decent job of quieting the exhaust noise) Just get a good muffler. Either a canister type (fart cannon, if you will) or a nice free flowing Oval style muffler (ala, Apexi WS2, Greddy SP2, Vibrant etc.)
5) Unless they have a high flow catalytic converter that will fit it on hand, just have them weld up the exhaust to your down-pipe. Get a cat later, try to protect this rock that we live on.
6) Pay them for their hard work, thank them, and drive that mother____ to a tuner shop and get that son of a bitch tuned.
7) Proceed to drive the car to your heart's desire.

if you decide not to go turbo, I think the GReddy SP2 is the best sounding exhaust on the market. That is my OPINION, and you know what they say:
"Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one"
I have the opinion AND the SP2 on my Integra. Love them both ;)

You're seriously going to waste/spend $4k on a turbonetics kit? Don't get me wrong Turbonetics makes some badass and respectable parts, but that is a very high price to pay. GReddy makes street-legal turbokits for like $3k. Use the leftover $1k saved to get some coilovers! Done.
