i jsut got a 124 dollar ticket for right turn because i didnt come to full stop at 2 am in the morning on a completely dead intersection( no cars in the area at all) and besides that it was a 2 way street going to one way so there was even less chances of hitting someone
just figured i post some info on whats goin on with the cameras and how politicians are wetting their panties over easy money to fill the city budget from out wallets.

That's ridiculous for you to get a ticket in that situation. That's another reason why those camera's are BS. A live police officer can use discretion wether to pull over someone for that or not, it's about the circumstance....2AM, no other traffic, turning onto a one way street. And you shouldn't be pulled over in that situation IMO, that's "nickel and diming" the public, something officers are advised not to do.

My sister got a $150.00 ticket for not coming to a complete stop at an intersection in New Mexico, what i can say is those prices are outragous, just a way for a city to spend more money on pointless shit

there's 3 companies that handle red light cameras. but you got a ticket because you didn't make a complete stop and passed the violation line. depending on what kind of system and site you can fight it if you believe its not your fualt. some sites havce a live video feed.

and usually sites are put up in cretain places cause of high accidents and/or lots of violations occur.

^^ lol, that's part of the problem in Madison.

Someone will rear end you if you don't run the light because they want to go with you behind it. almost had that happen to me the first time I was driving thru madison. Light turned yellow, so I went to stop,but the guy behind me didn't want to stop. I almost got smoked! he even laid on the horn at me because I stopped when the light turned red.

either way, its better to play it safe and abide by the rules. if you get hit from behind, it isn't your fault if it wasn't a sudden stop. if you get taken to court, hopefully the camera caught it.

no shit, right? that was a couple years ago tho. I was a new driver in a "sports car" with a record. Cops are good at putting me to blame.

I remember my girlfriend at the time had gotten into an accident while I had my record with the baraboo police department and one cop tried to pin it all on me and say it was my fault. lol

ye one of the articles points out the increase in rear end collisions because people stop too fast.
but DB8 can yo just imagine yourself in my situation? 2 am no cars around very clear view of all 4 corners i slow down to like 15mph because there was no reason to stop completely.
oh ye they do have videos
so 124/4 runs to 64 dollars for a 5 sec video and 31 dollar for each HI resolution image nice.... that will keep the police supply of doughnuts for few hours so they can sit and record those videos and wipe the sugar powder off their nose.

we have a bunch of red light cameras around my area. i'm okay with them. they are just starting to install those little, tiny boxes that detect your speed when you're driving down the road, too. well, for the past year or so, i guess. that probably means that pictures are taken shortly after i see the red dot. lol my radar detector goes off a lot around here. when it starts to go off, i can look to my right on any post and see a little red light. they seriously are everywhere now.

There's a reason we have police officers... IMO, fire all the cops if you're going to put these boxes and cameras in, or invent a robot that'll help me do my job and pay me for it too.

I wouldn't mind a robot that changes oil for me... haha
