Dude this sounds clearly like an alternator problem. You got a new battery and your car worked until you drained all the batterys power, then it just died. Get a new alternator dude, problem solved.

I don't see how people blame their cars. They only run as good as the owner takes care of them.

so you're telling me that using ONLY brand new OEM parts (aside from the battery of course), spending loads of $$, babying the car, constantly checking and maintaining everything, that the owner doesn't take good care of it? that's a pretty strong statement, only if you don't give a s*** about your car

are you tell me that when you spend all that time, money and energy into your car and things just seem to keep going downhill that you don't get pissed off at it?

the reason I haven't changed out my alternator yet is because this happend to me before then I switched out the old battery in for a new one. After that it worked completely fine...then this happend. I'm thinking its my alternator but like I said, I'd rather eliminate one thing at a time rather than jumping right to it and it not being my problem.

also...with a supercharger, the alternator replacement makes it a tougher task.

that's the thing. when I had it tested, it was at 13.2 volts or so. I did not go lower than 13 volts.

I never said you didn't maintain your car, but you can't bitch about it when something breaks. Shit wears out, there is no maintaining your alternator, they just go after awhile. I see a lot of threads with people cussing their cars because exp: "At 150k my motor mounts went out, what a pile", "My fucking timing belt went out at 140k miles, now my motor is toast", "All this shit keeps happening to my car at once, I spent 4k in maintenance on it for the first time in 10 years, why is it fucking up so bad". Think about all the money spent on other things and then think of how much it actually cost to maintain a car. It's not a lot, I'm not talking about performance upgrades but actual car maintenance. None of these people think that maybe they should have replaced that starter instead of buying that new intake. Or maybe should have did that valve job before throwing those new cams in.

I would have to agree with Aussie, it's all part of owning a car-especially if your going to modify it. My buddy just paid the price for being cheap on replacing his timing belt. Rather than paying a reputable shop to change his belt he went to that "friend of a friend of a friend" back yard mechanic. A good shop would change your belt, do a valve lash job, and strongly reccommend changing the water pump. This guy changed the belt, with one that didn't even look new. Not only was the timing fucked up, but the guy never bothered to change the water pump. Long story short, the pump siezed up, belt snapped, and R.I.P. a perfectly good B18C gsr motor. That's the price you pay for bieng cheap.

maybe you guys should start a new thread and preach? :D i see where you're comming from but if you guys are talking about people buying performance parts rather than maintaining a car, then this is obviously the wrong thread. yes, i said I wanted to kick my car and push it into a river, not because I blame it but because I was pissed off and frustrated. I don't blame the car, in no way do I say its a pos, just frustration. also, in no way does this thread talk about going the cheap route. its about eliminating things one at a time instead of wasting time, energy and headaches. so, respectfully, if you feel you need to give a long speech about buying this over maintaining a car and choosing this way over that way, please, start a new thread. thanks yo.

and Aussie to answer you, i'm sure atleast 80% of people don't just replace things when they aren't broken...say, that starter that hasn't gone bad or that alternator when no power issues occured or an oil change when its only been 1500 milest..that's why they've decided to buy that cheapo intake...

but seriously, thanks for the input.
