Yes. Bad TPS signal can affect VTEC engagement. Do you have a check engine light on?
yah its on. I got my bro to plug it into his scanner earlier and it is indeed the tps. does the entire throttle body have to be replaced or can you change the tps itself? I've heard people say both so I don't know which to believe.

You can just change the TPS. But it kinda of a PITA. It is actually held in by screws but they do not have a driver pattern. Just notch them for a flathead and back em out

well the scanner said the tps was bad but today it started idling at 3.5k constantly and I unplugged the iacv and it started idling perfect. just wondering will it be ok to drive it for a little while with the iacv unplugged until I can another one? it wasn't kicking a code but I guess its bad since that fixed it.

once your computer rocognizes it,it should do it again, Well thats how my srt works, i dont how those honda ecus work
